Apple granted a patent which could help get rid of iPhone’s embarrassing camera bulge

Apple has just been granted a very cool patent that promises to solve the protruding camera lens on the back of the iPhone 6/6s series. The invention basically calls for packing a spherical photosensor and lens array in a tiny package.

The patent No. 9,244,253 for a “Small form factor high-resolution camera,” which was published Tuesday by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), reduces the distance between the CMOS sensor and the lens by making the sensor curved, a technique used in astronomical telescopes and instrumentation.

One of the perks of having a jailbroken iPhone 6s is that you can combine 3D Touch with many of the newest jailbreak tweaks to come up with unique new features. One such feature, the ability to frame and take photos directly from the iOS Home screen, is made possible using a jailbroken iPhone 6s and a recently released tweak.

The tweak is entitled Point-And-Shoot, and it is capable of enhancing the stock 3D Touch shortcuts for the Camera app with a live camera viewfinder placed right on the Home screen. You can then use the Home screen viewfinder to frame your shots and snap photos on the fly.

iOS 9.2 lets you import photos and videos directly to iPhone via USB

A sketchy rumor originating from sources in China has it that Apple is currently experimenting with at least five different iPhone 7 configurations, each with its own unique hardware characteristics.

Some of the features Apple is reportedly testing out for the next iPhone include a USB Type-C connector compatible with wireless headsets, wireless charging, multi-touch-capable Force Touch technology, dual cameras and a next-generation Touch ID technology embedded within the display.

Photo shootout: how the iPhone 6s compares to its predecessors

Photographer Lisa Bettany, co-founder of the popular iPhone app Camera+, on Monday posted a series of images comparing photos taken with the iPhone 6s with its predecessors. The comparison images feature identical shots taken with each of the 9 iPhone models (sans 5c).

The image you see above shows macro photos taken of colored pencils against a white backdrop. You start to notice more details with the iPhone 3GS, and furthermore with the 4s. After that it becomes harder to discern differences, but the iPhone 6s photo clearly looks the best.
