Spotify for Mac gains Touch Bar shortcuts

Spotify for Mac was updated this morning with support for Touch Bar shortcuts on the new MacBook Pro models, German outlet Giga.de reported. A few handy music-playback controls are now available in Spotify's Mac app directly from the Touch Bar, including common controls such as transport and search, as well as persistent Now Playing buttons like play, pause, shuffle, repeat and the volume slider.

Email client Spark for Mac adds a bunch of new productivity features in latest update

Less than a month ago, Ukrainian developer Readdle launched Spark for Mac with Touch Bar support and many advanced features to help you achieve Inbox Zero Nirvana. Last evening, the app received a bunch of new features in the new 1.1 update. You can now assign a different color to each email account so it's easier to distinguish in the account list. Multiple messages can now be marked as spam at once, IMAP folders can be created directly from the sidebar, contacts now sync with your address book and more.

Super Mario Run: 40 million downloads, Friendly Run mode added

Nintendo Japan said in a press release today that Super Mario Run for iPhone has been downloaded more than forty million times in the four days following its debut on the App Store six days ago.

The game topped the App Store's Free charts in 140 countries and is among the top 10 paid items in more than a hundred App Stores worldwide. Today, Super Mario Run gained a brand new Friendly Run gameplay mode, but with a daily cap.

Viber launches instant video messages, chat extensions, redesigned emoji & more

About a month and a half ago, Viber rolled out Public Accounts as a new way to reach brands. Today, the messaging service pushed another update to its mobile app on the App Store. With Viber 6.5.5 for iPhone, you can now send instant video messages to contacts, share interesting online content with chat extensions without leaving the app, enjoy completely redrawn emoticons and add up to 250 participants to a group chat.

Instagram enhances Stories with stickers, Save Story option, hands-free shooting & more

Instagram is on a roll: hot on the heels of enabling a bookmarking feature, Boomerang montages, commenting improvements and disappearing media attachments in Direct, the popular photo-sharing service today announced additional features for your Stories. These include regular and holiday-themed stickers, text enhancements, hands-free video mode, the ability to save a Story video to iOS's Camera roll and more.

Duet Display update brings Touch Bar to your iPad

Duet Display, an app from ex-Apple engineers that turns your iPad into an extra display for your Mac or Windows PC, was updated today on the App Store with an interesting new feature that adds a Touch Bar to your tablet. Simply use Duet Display's free of charge iOS app to connect to Duet Display running on a Mac with Sierra 10.12.2 or later and enable the new feature in Duet's menu bar settings.

Deliveries for Mac gains full Sierra compatibility, Touch Bar shortcuts & other new features

After refreshing Deliveries for iOS with full iOS 10 and watchOS 3 support and other nice-to-haves four days ago, Deliveries for Mac was updated on the Mac App Store with full support for macOS Sierra, Touch Bar shortcuts on the new MacBook Pro and more.

Touch Bar shortcuts can be customized for features like shipping company suggestions when you add a delivery, auto-complete for email addresses, a 1Password button when it's appropriate and more.

Releasing today: $20 Minecraft for Apple TV & big “Ender” update for iOS version

Highlighted at the “Hello again” Mac event in October, Minecraft for Apple TV is currently rolling out on the tvOS App Store. Developer Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition for iOS just received a big “Ender” update. Bringing the app's version number to 1.0, the “Ender” update enables a bunch of cool features and perks.

Some of them include the ultimate boss battle, Ender Dragon, new locations like The End, additional items such as the Dragon’s Breath potion and this year's Festive Mash-Up Pack with all kinds of holiday themed looks.

Deliveries, my favorite package tracker for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, received a major update on the App Store this morning. Bumped to version 8.0, Deliveries is now fully compatible with iOS 10 and watchOS 3 and supports many new iOS 10 features, from rich notifications and haptic feedback to a reworked widget, deeper 3D Touch support, faster background updating for the Deliveries widget and its Apple Watch app, improved suggestions when you add a delivery, an iMessage sticker pack and more.

Dropbox for iOS gains bulk renaming of photos, offline folders & recent save locations

Popular cloud-storage service Dropbox has refreshed its iPhone and iPad application on the App Store with three new features: bulk-renaming of photos, offline folders and recent save locations. In addition, the company announced a major infrastructure push enabling faster sync speeds thanks to several new proxy servers established across the globe, including accelerators in California, Texas, Virginia, New York, Washington, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
