How to disable the fake clicking sound for MacBook trackpads

Pressing MacBook trackpad

MacBook equipped with a Force Touch trackpad produces an audible ‘click’ sound in order to simulate the sound you would hear on a Mac without a Force Touch trackpad. It has no down travel and all you’re hearing is an audible sound when you click it. In this tutorial, we’ll talk about how to disable that fake clicking sound.

Apple aiming for October launch of new MacBook Pro

Apple is moving rapidly toward the launch of new MacBook Pro models, reports MacRumors. The site says it has learned that macOS 10.12.1 is largely focused on preparing the operating system to support the new laptop's features, and it hopes to finalize the update by the end of next week so it can be loaded on the new hardware currently being produced by Apple's supply chain.

Bloomberg: new Macs and 5K monitor could debut as early as October

Apple is working on several upgrades to its Mac product line, reports Bloomberg. Citing sources familiar with the company's plans, the outlet says the refreshed hardware includes new versions of the iMac, MacBook Air, and the oft-rumored MacBook Pro.

Also in the pipeline is a new 5K standalone monitor. Apple, of course, discontinued its Thunderbolt Display earlier this year, after years without an update. This time around, Bloomberg says the Cupertino firm is collaborating with LG to build its monitor.

Will overhauled MacBook Pros debut alongside iPhone 7 in September or in October?

In an article this morning, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman rehashed much of the previous rumors regarding Apple's widely expected MacBook Pro refresh with Touch ID, AMD GPU, an OLED touch strip replacing the row of function keys and more. As per the report, these new MacBook Pros “aren’t likely” to debut alongside the new phones at the September 7 iPhone media event.

Which brings me to our question of the day: will the new machines launch in September, October or maybe even later? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Bloomberg: next-gen MacBook Pro with OLED touch strip “most significant update in 4 years”

Bloomberg threw its weight today behind rumors that a next-generation MacBook Pro would have Touch ID and an OLED touch strip with programmable shortcuts replacing the function key row, among other features first predicted by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Author Mark Gurman now writes for Bloomberg that the new MacBook Pros represent “the most significant upgrade” to the lineup in four years with the updated, thinner notebooks offering more powerful graphics processors “for expert users such as video gamers” and design features like a smaller footprint, thinner appearance, a bigger trackpad and more.

Next-gen MacBook Pro to integrate Touch ID into the Power button?

Apple is believed to be working on the next MacBook Pro upgrade that should include, among a faster Intel processor and graphics and other hardware-related enhancements, an OLED bar replacing the row of function keys on the keyboard with programmable touch-sensitive shortcuts that could automatically change from one app to another.

In a new report Monday, 9to5Mac has learned from a sketchy source that the rumored OLED touch bar might be accompanied by a Touch ID sensor for fingerprint login.

Twelve South’s BookArc is a lightweight and stylish Apple notebook stand

I like me a good notebook stand for the simple fact that it helps clear unwanted clutter from my desk when I need it for something other than a computer. Plus, it kind of organizes things and makes everything look neater.

Twelve South is probably one of the best brand names you can buy for this sort of thing, and in this review, we'll be showing you the Twelve South BookArc for all models of Apple's MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro.

Code found in macOS Sierra hints at rumored OLED touch bar, Touch ID support

Some evidence has been discovered within the code of the initial macOS Sierra beta that suggests there may be some truth to the rumors that Apple is building a MacBook Pro with a built-in OLED touch bar and Touch ID support. As noted by French site Mac Generation, there are several mysterious 'kHIDUsage_LED' references in macOS, as well as mention of support for "biometric devices."

Check out this awesome MacBook Pro concept with OLED touch panel

Well known designer and mockup artist Martin Hajek released a new concept for the MacBook Pro on Thursday. As usual, Hajek's renderings are gorgeous, and the details of the laptop design match up closely with recent rumors and reports.

Perhaps the most prominent feature is the OLED touch panel that sits above the keyboard, in place of the function keys. The panel first popped up in an investor note from Ming-Chi Kuo, and it has since been corroborated by other sources.

Photos of alleged MacBook Pro seemingly confirm OLED touchpad rumors

New images surfaced on Tuesday of what is said to be a chassis for Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro. Cult of Mac says they were sent the photos by "an anonymous source who claims to work for one of Apple’s manufacturing partners in China," but that of course cannot be confirmed.

The so-called spy shots are interesting because there's a noticeable gap in the laptop chassis, just above the keyboard. The oddity lines up with a recent investor note from prominent Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, which called for this year's MacBook Pro to feature an OLED touchpad.
