Friendly Run event launches in Super Mario Run, earn Rally Tickets no matter if you win or lose

After launching a new Friendly Run mode in Super Mario Run six days ago, Nintendo today announced a limited-time Friendly Run event that gives you a little bonus for playing Friendly Run. No matter if you win or lose, playing Friendly Run during the event earns you some free Rally Tickets.

The event is running from December 27, 2016 8:00am to January 11, 2017 07:59am.

Here’s what Super Mario Run would look like as a free-to-play game

A recent Nintendo survey asked a subset of Super Mario Run players who linked the game with their My Nintendo account how much they'd be willing to pay for the full game.

As you know, Super Mario Run can be downloaded at no charge, but a $9.99 upgrade is required to remove the restrictions from the three game modes and unlock its content beyond the first four levels of World 1.

Some people were so disgruntled with the high upgrade price that they wrote poor reviews on App Store, causing Nintendo’s share price to fall. Wouldn't it be great if Super Mario Run was a free to play title like Pokémon GO is? Well, PocketGamer took it upon itself to create some very illustrative mockups that imagine the parallel universe where Super Mario Run is free to play.

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic hits iPhone and iPad

Games maker Atari today released RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on the App Store. Not to be confused with Atari's earlier release RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, the $5.99 iOS title includes the best features found in the 1999 RollerCoaster Tycoon PC game and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 for Xbox, which released in 2002. The new RollerCoaster Tycoon mobile experience includes 95 classic park scenarios from PC/Xbox titles.

There's also a built-in park designer, Retina-optimized graphics based on the visual style in Chris Sawyer’s original RollerCoaster Tycoon PC games, three downloadable content packs and much more.

How to delete your Super Mario Run game data without deleting the app

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how you can delete all your Super Mario Run game progress data without having to delete the game from your device and re-download it later on.

Releasing today: $20 Minecraft for Apple TV & big “Ender” update for iOS version

Highlighted at the “Hello again” Mac event in October, Minecraft for Apple TV is currently rolling out on the tvOS App Store. Developer Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition for iOS just received a big “Ender” update. Bringing the app's version number to 1.0, the “Ender” update enables a bunch of cool features and perks.

Some of them include the ultimate boss battle, Ender Dragon, new locations like The End, additional items such as the Dragon’s Breath potion and this year's Festive Mash-Up Pack with all kinds of holiday themed looks.

Gamify your stand goals with Standland for iPhone and Apple Watch

Filling all three activity rings at the close of day has become a proper ritual and incentive for many Apple Watch owners. Out of the three, the one most likely to botch your hard-earned, months long streak is going to be the blue circle gauging standing times per day. The reasons for it are manyfold, but it often comes down to the simple fact that you cannot pencil in a time slot before or after work to quickly fill up the blue one, as it is contrived to be an achievement realized over the course of 12 hours per day.

Standland, an app for iPhone and Apple Watch users, has identified that pitfall of Apple’s activity tracker and plays on it nicely, offering more control, analytics and motivation to get users standing up at least once per hour. Japan’s iPhone App of the Year 2016 achieves this by serving up a creative blend of pet collection (resemblant of the old tamagotchi days) and fitness curation. Standland can track your standing hours right from your wrist or the inside of your pocket (for iPhone-only users) and has recently been updated for the festive season that is upon us. Follow our review below to find out about the role of in-app purchases and whether or not the stripped-down version of Standland is worth your time.
