CoolStar seeds Electra RC 1.3 to developers

The Electra jailbreak tool has been in beta since it came to fruition in mid-January, but CoolStar changed that this week after seeding a limited developer-only release of Electra RC 1.

On Saturday, he pushed yet another developer-only build dubbed Electra RC 1.3. The revised jailbreak tool adds support for an iOS 11-compatible version of Ryan Petrich’s RocketBootstrap utility, among other things.

CoolStar seeds limited release of Electra RC1 to jailbreak developers

Electra quickly became one of the most streamlined tools for jailbreaking iOS 11.0-11.1.2, but it has been in its beta stages up to this point. CoolStar is now beginning to seed Electra RC1 to trusted jailbreak community developers for testing.

One of the most significant changes present in Electra RC1 is the inclusion of CoolStar’s patched Cydia, which has been one of the most highly-sought after features for the jailbreak since its inception in mid-January.

CoolStar updates APT, DPKG, and GNU for iOS 11, Cydia coming in future Electra beta

Electra quickly became one of the most popular ways to jailbreak iOS 11.0-.11.1.2, and while it hasn’t included Cydia since its initial release, that could all change very soon.

The primary reason we haven’t had Cydia on iOS 11 as of yet is that both it and its dependencies haven’t been updated to work on Apple’s latest operating system. On the other hand, CoolStar made significant strides in the right direction this week after upgrading APT, DPKG, and GNU with iOS 11 support.

CoolStar launches a tenth beta of the Electra jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2

On Wednesday, CoolStar released the tenth beta of his Electra jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2. The new release incorporates a bevy of bug fixes with the intention of making the experience more stable for everyone.

Electra still doesn’t install Cydia because Saurik hasn’t updated it for iOS 11 just yet, but users can take advantage of SSH connectivity to install tweaks and extensions for personal enjoyment.

CoolStar updates Electra iOS 11.0-11.1.2 jailbreak tool to beta 8-2 with bug fixes

It was just yesterday that CoolStar’s Electra jailbreak tool for iOS 11.0-11.1.2 got updated to beta 8, but many users reported bugs and using it – predominantly with Safari. Fortunately, Electra beta 8-2 launched on Friday with a fix for these issues, among other things.

Just like the LiberiOS jailbreak tool that got released last year, Electra utilizes Ian Beer’s open-source tfp0 exploit. Furthermore, it doesn’t install Cydia, as Saurik has yet to update it for iOS 11 devices.
