T-Mobile Joins Verizon to Support Samsung Against Apple Litigation

Just like Verizon did last week, T-Mobile has submitted an amicus curiae to the court, officially siding with Samsung in its ongoing litigation against Apple. For the non-lawyers, an amicus curiae is when someone volunteers to offer information to assist a court in deciding on an issue.

T-Mobile's argument is similar to Verizon's. Both company don't want to see any of their best-selling 4G devices banned during the holiday season. Obviously, it would be a huge loss for the carriers, who generate a big chunk of revenue from this time of the year...

Facebook to Launch iPad App and Project Spartan Early Next Week

According to MG Siegler of TechCrunch, Facebook is set unveil its long awaited iPad app and Project Spartan, the HTML 5-based mobile platform the company has been working on for months, early next week.

We know the iPad app has been ready for a while – which was confirmed by a former Facebook employee – but it appears that Spartan has been ready for quite some time, too. But the company has apparently been working out the kinks with Apple. Better than that, Facebook may unveil these new products at Apple's iPhone 5 launch next week...

Most of you know by now that Apple and Samsung are in a grueling court battle. Back in April the Cupertino company filed a lawsuit against Samsung for violating its "trade dress," or in layman's terms, blatantly copying its device designs.

The ongoing litigation has resulted in a temporary ban of Samsung's Galaxy Tab and other devices in multiple countries, and the two companies are about to square off here in the US. Judging by this new "evidence," I'd say Apple has the upper hand...

If you've been planning on buying an iPod Classic or iPod Shuffle, now would be a good time to do so.

Last night, TUAW corroborated an earlier report from 9to5Mac that Apple is looking to discontinue the iPod Classic and iPod Shuffle. The "product transition" that Apple hinted at during its last earnings call is apparently within the iPod product line. TUAW's source has said that Apple will axe the two iPods this year, presumably at Tuesday's event...
