Just three days after releasing its diversity report in which it was revealed that its employees are 55% of white and 70% male, Apple made an interesting move by adding five Vice Presidents to the Executive Profiles page on its website.
Of course, it could be the cynic in me believing that adding two women is just pure coincidence, but it's definitely a timely addition.
The USB Promoter Group in December of last year formally announced [press release] a brand new USB 3.1 Type-C specification.
We've gotten pretty excited by this development as the updated standard calls for much smaller, twice as fast cables with reversible connectors that can be inserted with either side facing up, much like Apple's own Lightning I/O.

Yesterday, Apple's marketing honcho Phil Schiller undertook the Ice Bucket Challenge. In a tweet accompanied by a series of images showing himself dumping a bucket of ice water on his head at the beaches, Schiller called on Apple CEO Tim Cook to accept the challenge and also get doused, by tagging him in the post.
Sure enough, Cook rose to the occasion and had a bucket of ice water poured over his head by recording artist Michael Franti.

It looks like tech employees aren't the only ones upset with Apple's anti-poaching agreements. Shareholder R. Andre Klein has filed a class action lawsuit against the Cupertino company, saying the deals caused it to grossly mismanage its assets, mislead its investors, and hurt its overall value.
According to the filing, Klein is suing on behalf of all Apple shareholders and has named a number of its executives as individual defendants including Tim Cook, and even the late Steve Jobs. He is seeking a jury trial, and asking for a settlement that would resolve "millions of dollars in damages."

Games developer and publisher Ubisoft today confirmed that the iOS edition of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, its puzzle-adventure game set during the World War I, is coming to the App Store next month.
