AT&T Activates One Million iPhone 4S Devices

The iPhone 4S has been a tremendous success for all three of the US carriers that currently sell the handset. But it seems that AT&T is getting a little more success compared to Apple's other two iPhone 4S partners.

AT&T today announced that it has activated more than one million iPhone 4S devices as of Tuesday, making the iPhone 4S launch the most successful launch in the carrier's history...

Meet the Fourth US Carrier for the iPhone 4S

It's just been announced that the iPhone 4S will be available on a fourth US carrier, and no, it's not T-Mobile. Oddly enough, C Spire Wireless, formerly known as Cellular South, will be launching Apple's next smartphone soon.

C Spire will join AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint as an iPhone partner in the US. T-Mobile remains left out in the cold...

iPhone 4S Purchased Off-Contract on AT&T is Already Unlocked

Although Apple has stated that it won't sell the iPhone 4S unlocked until sometime in November, reports are showing that several people in the US have already obtained an unlocked iPhone 4S from the Apple Store.

One of those lucky individuals happens to be iOS developer Steven Troughton-Smith. Steven Troughton-Smith is also the developer behind the port of Siri to the iPhone 4 and iPad 2. We at iDownloadBlog have been able to purchase a retail iPhone 4S and use it on T-Mobile...

Sprint iPhone Owners Complaining About Slow 3G Data Speeds

You have to feel for Sprint customers, don't you? First they had to wait four years to get their hands on an iPhone, and now that they have it, their data network doesn't appear to be coping too well.

As Macrumors is now reporting, there is now a fairly long thread developing over at the Sprint support forums, where iPhone owners are reporting issues, mainly of the "my iPhone's 3G data connection is soo slow" variety...

AT&T and Sprint Report iPhone 4S Success

The iPhone 4S officially went on sale in the US yesterday, and unsurprisingly, it has provided record-setting sales for at least two of the three major U.S carriers that offer the device.

AT&T on Friday confirmed to BGR in an email that it has activated a record number of iPhones and is on track to double its previous record of activations in a single day.

Sprint, which didn’t start carrying the iPhone until this month, reported its best ever day of sales in retail, web, and telesales for a device family in Sprint history, thanks to the launch of the new iPhone 4S and iPhone 4...

Could Not Activate iPhone 4S

Just picked up your iPhone 4S? Excited? You should be.

But that excitement may be quickly quelled when you try to activate your new device.

Apparently, AT&T's servers are getting hammered, and it's causing activation to fail over, and over, and over...

Travelers Will Want to Consider the iPhone 4S on Verizon or Sprint [Updated]

We already knew that the iPhone 4S was going to be the first world phone to come out of the Apple labs, and that meant that both GSM and CDMA handset flavors would roam on the networks of international carriers. This was good news, meaning that customers of both Verizon and Sprint could now take their handsets abroad and continue to use them.

Now, there's even better news for those customers, with Macworld discovering that they might actually have an advantage over AT&T (and all other GSM carriers across the planet), thanks to the unlocked SIM slot on the CDMA iPhone 4S...

As soon as Apple announced October 14th as the release date for the new iPhone 4S on AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, potential buyers began wondering which carrier would be the right option.

Now that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint all offering the iPhone, everyone is looking at the pros and cons of each carrier. With that in mind, Macworld has put together a comprehensive comparison of the choices for new iPhone owners on all three US carriers...

AT&T Sold 200,000 iPhone 4S Units in First 12 Hours

MacRumors points to a report from Reuters citing that AT&T is seeing extraordinary demand for Apple's new smartphone. As most of you know, Apple opened up iPhone 4S preorders just after midnight (PST) last night.

The company has been met with a lot of criticism over its latest handset, which it unveiled last Tuesday. But that doesn't seem to have affected consumer demand for the device. AT&T believes that they've already sold 200,000 of them...

Apple and AT&T Working Together to Get “4G” Indicator in iPhone 4S Status Bar

What is 4G? Other than the fact that it's the wireless standard that comes after 3G, I'm not sure that a lot of people outside of the ITU (International Telecommunications Union) know the answer. It's supposed to be a lot faster, right?

For months, both AT&T and T-Mobile have been taking advantage of this grey area surrounding the marketing buzz term, touting their HSPA+ networks as "4G." Now it appears that Apple is going to be hopping on the bandwagon...
