SBSwitcher Places SBSettings Toggles in Your App Switcher

The first thing I thought when I first saw SBSwitcher on Cydia is "Wow, that's pretty expensive." Indeed $2.99 is quite the hefty price for a jailbreak tweak that essentially duplicates the functionality that you've been enjoying all of this time for free.

SBSwitcher is basically SBSettings placed in your app switcher. Unfortunately, only the toggles apply here, so if you want to invoke any of the other SBSettings functionality, like say, respringing, you'll have to resort back to your old methods...

With that in mind, there has to be some redeeming factor for SBSwitcher, right? Surely, $2.99 will travel further than that, no?

New Car Stereo Fully Integrates Your iPhone

Ever since the first iPhone came out in 2007, I thought it'd be a genius idea to create a car stereo that would completely integrate the iPhone to use it as a screen but also for controls. Fast forward 3 years later and it seems someone has finally heard my prayers.

The guys at Oxygen Audio just came up with the O Car, a fully integrated head unit specifically designed and made for iPhone. Its patented technologies enable the user to control all standard car stereo functions using the iPhone touch screen, while allowing horizontal and vertical access, so that all iPhone applications may be used in the car...

Why Cydia is Called Cydia

Cydia is a household name in the jailbreak community. Anyone who has jailbroken their iDevice has most likely used Cydia. Some of us may even know that Cydia is the brainchild of Jay "saurik" Freeman, whom most consider the father of the jailbreak.

Cydia is used by millions of people, but how many know why it has such a weird name? I mean, "Cydia?" What in the world does that mean? There has even been dispute as how to say the word "Cydia." Little do most know, there is an interesting reason for the odd title behind the icon that every jailbreaker recognizes...

7 Original Metal Back Covers for iPhone 4

You might remember a couple months ago when we showed you this metal back cover for iPhone 4. It seems that another company was inspired by the concept and came up with 5 variations based on the same idea. My favorite of course is the one with the pwnapple logo on it.

These metal covers aren't cheap. But $24 a piece might just be the price to pay to get a unique device that will sure get you some attention...

Inception, There’s An App For That

It's not that often that an app like Inception comes along. That's right, Christopher Nolan's masterpiece film has its very own iPhone app!

The Inception app pioneers the use of augmented reality with sound. It synchronizes an augmented layer of music and ambient noise with the world around you.

This groundbreaking app experiment is the project of Christopher Nolan, Michael Breidenbrücke and Hans Zimmer. In case you didn't know, Christopher Nolan was the writer and director of the Inception movie and Hans Zimmer wrote and produced the movie's score...

iTunes 10.1.1 is Out

Apple just released an update to iTunes with version 10.1.1 which apparently fixes some issues with syncing and unexpected crashes. I personally never experienced this issue but I guess it was a problem for some of you.

iTunes 10.1.1 seems to be safe for jailbreakers and unlockers but it might be a wise thing to wait for an official confirmation from a Dev Team member. In the meanwhile, this is the changelog for iTunes 10.1.1...

iBooks Updated With AirPrint Capability, Enhanced Illustrations, Collections And More

Apple has updated iBooks to support a number of new features including integrated AirPrint abilities for PDF documents and notes. Not only that, but they have added enhanced full color illustration capabilities to the mix.

Now you can read little Johnny a more exciting bedtime story, and afterwards print off the latest notes from today's staff meeting. You've gotta love technology.

According to Apple, the following four features made the cut in iBooks 1.2...

mSpot Enables Cloud Syncing With iTunes But It’s Not Quite Ready For Primetime

The rumors have been circling for quite a while about an official iTunes cloud solution that makes streaming your music anywhere at anytime a reality. While we do think it's inevitable that iTunes will one day ride the cloud, those who are getting impatient now have an unofficial option.

mSpot is that option. An app that has been around for a while on other platforms, but just recently landed on the iPhone.

mSpot makes all of your unfulfilled fantasies about iTunes cloud storage come true; right now you can store 2GB of your music, and download the official mPlayer app free of charge. For those of you with larger music collections (note: like, everyone), mSpot offers you a fairly generous 40GB worth of storage for $3.99 a month...

RetinaAppIcons Converts Your App Icons With No User Interaction

Don't you just hate it when you download an App Store App onto your beautiful iPhone 4, only to be presented with some ugly low-resolution app icon? I don't know about you, but the first thing I do is throw that bad boy in a folder somewhere. Can't have that ugliness de-beautifying my Retina display.

Thankfully, there are ways to convert your icons to retina-worthy icons, but those methods all required some form of end-user intervention. RetinaAppIcons is a jailbreak tweak that promises to take care of all of the dirty work for a nominal fee of $0.99 cents, but does it work as advertised?

Here’s An iPhone App You Probably Don’t Want to Download Over 3G

I think it's safe to say that mostly everyone uses My3G or 3G Unrestrictor to bypass Apple's silly 20MB App Store download limit over 3G. But you might just want to take Apple's advice when it comes to Riven, the 90's-era sequel to the popular PC game, Myst.

That's because Riven maxes out at a whopping 1 gigabyte. That's right, an App Store App 1 gigabyte in size. Some of you might be hesitant to download that over Wifi, let alone 3G...

Want to Use AirPlay But Don’t Have An Apple TV 2?

AirPlay is awesome because it allows you to instantly stream video that you're watching on your iPhone to your television utilizing a $99 Apple TV 2. But let's say you don't have an Apple TV 2, but you do have a Mac mini hooked up to your TV. What to do then?

Before today, the answer to that question was "not a whole lot." Thankfully, though, there's a new OS X app in town called AirPlayer, and it allows you to use AirPlay right on your Mac...
