Apple Reports Impressive First Quarter Results

Stock holders, analysts, and media members alike joined in to listen to Tim Cook and other Apple executives read off Apple's Q1 earning results this afternoon. Although the numbers were released earlier today, the conference call included a Q&A session with some of Apple's execs.

The bottom line was obviously that Apple's Q1 earning results were staggering. They posted nearly $25 billion dollars in revenue and shipped over 18 million iPhones worldwide. What else did Apple disclose on the conference call?

FindOne Helps you Track Down iPad 2s

By now, we've reported on several different places to get yourself one of Apple's new tablets. Though availability has been fairly scarce, several retail stores including RadioShack and Toys R' Us have received late shipments of the iPad 2.

If for some reason you still haven't gotten your hands on the popular device, there's an app for that. Popular iDevice blog TiPb posted an interesting find today of an application called FindOne.

It works by querying various superstore databases to find iPad 2 product availability within the users given zip code. If an iPad 2 is available, the store's phone number and address get displayed.

You can even narrow your search to match the exact model you are looking for. Options include storage size and which wireless service you want built in, if any.

That said, there is a bit of a downside. Currently the application only works with Walmart and Target retail chains, but Best Buy and Toys R' Us compatibility are said to be on the way.

Folks still searching for an iPad 2 may find this application useful. It works on all iDevices and is a free download from iTunes.

Has everyone gotten their iPad 2s?

Iconic iPod Click Wheel Comes to the iPhone with iClassic

With all of Apple's touch devices these days, do you ever miss the classic iPods? Sure they didn't have as cool of games or shoot HD video, but there was definitely something sexy about that click wheel. It was responsive and made browsing your music collection faster than ever before.

If you are looking for a way to kind of relive the good old days, check out iClassic. The Cydia application for jailbroken iDevices will allow you to bring back the click wheel, on your current touch screen device. But can an application truly capture the experience of the click wheel?

Dropbox and iFile Now Support Each Other

Remember when we told you that the popular jailbreak app, iFile, was going to gain Dropbox support?

iFile and Dropbox have officially integrated with each other to provide cloud syncing and storage between the two apps. With the latest update to iFile, you can send locally-stored data through iFile to your Dropbox account and vice-versa.

Your iPhone Secretly Records Your Location Data

Most of you are probably aware that the iPhone can track your location. We've all seen the box pop up that says "Facebook would like to use your location data," and then you tap Allow or Cancel.

But how many of you knew that the iPhone constantly tracks your location and records your coordinates alongside a time stamp to a secret file? I assumed that police might have access to that kind of info through my wireless carrier, but I didn't know it was sitting in a file on my phone...

‘Color Keyboard’ Adds Flair to Your iPhone’s Stock Keyboard

Color Keyboard is a recently released jailbreak tweak that potentially allows you to customize your iPhone's keyboard using whatever color scheme you deem worthy.

I use the word potential, because it's entirely up to you as to whether or not you'll squeeze your money's worth out of it.

The name -- Color Keyboard -- while technically true, might seem as if it's a tad misleading, especially in the shadow of robust jailbreak tweaks like AlertArtist...

How to Downgrade iPhone iOS 4.3.2

With the release of iOS 4.3.2 this late last week, and the new iOS 4.3.2 redsn0w jailbreak still not completely stable, some of you might not want to wait any longer for a stable jailbreak, or maybe you’re having additional issues with the new OS. Whatever the reason might be, you can downgrade from your current iOS version to an earlier version using your SHSH blobs on file.

It is important you have your SHSH blobs on file for the iOS version you want to downgrade to. If you don’t have your SHSH blobs on file for the iOS you want to downgrade to, you will not be able to downgrade. You can check which SHSH blobs on file you’ve got by launching Cydia and looking at the top of the Cydia homepage where it lists all your saved SHSH blobs.

AT&T’s Q1 iPhone Sales Up 33%, Unaffected by Verizon iPhone

AT&T posted its first-quarter earnings this morning, and the U.S. carrier saw a 33% increase in iPhone activations during the first quarter of 2011. A grand total of 3.6 million iPhones were activated on AT&T, helping to give the carrier a 10.2% overall increase in wireless revenue.

Since the iPhone was made available on Verizon, a drop in iPhone sales on AT&T has been expected. Instead, AT&T announced that this past quarter was its best first-quarter earnings ever. Looks like the Verizon iPhone isn't really enticing customers away from AT&T...

Fake iPhone 4 Nano Being Sold in China for $60

With rumors flying about the iPhone 5, little attention has been paid to the iPhone Nano rumors that surfaced months ago. While the U.S. has remained quiet about a future iPhone Nano device, Chinese dealers are beginning to sell knock-off iPhone 4 Nano's to the tune of about $60 U.S.

These fake, mini iPhone devices run a Java-based iOS ripoff and behave a lot like the original iPhone. Most notably, these Chinese knock-offs are about 2/3 the size of the real iPhone 4...

iPhone 5 Coming in September, Similar to iPhone 4

According to a report from Reuters, Apple is scheduled to begin production of the iPhone 5 in July/August with a September release. This news coincides with other reports that Apple will push back the next generation iPhone's launch to a later fall date.

It is unclear as to why Apple is not following the usual summer release schedule for the iPhone, but all signs point to a different roadmap for 2011. The iPhone 5 is reported to have a faster processor and look very similar to the current iPhone 4.

Gmail Web App Updated, Can Undo Actions

The Gmail web app just keeps getting better and better! If you use the Gmail web app with Safari on your iPhone, you'll be happy to know that Google has now updated Gmail's web interface with an "undo" feature.

The web app will now allow users to undo an action such as archive, delete, add/remove a label, or move a message/conversation. When you select one of these actions, Gmail shows a yellow bar that displays what you just and allowing you to undo it, instead of having to dig the message out of the Trash.
