Saturday Night Live talks iPhone 5 complaints

For the most part, the iPhone 5 has been well-received by customers. Reviews of the handset have been very positive, with most folks saying it's well worth the upgrade for previous iPhone owners.

But in addition to all of the praise, we've also heard a lot of complaints regarding the smartphone. There's the iOS 6 Maps debacle and the scratching, and don't forget the camera's purple haze issue.

So last night, the folks over at Saturday Night Live decided to address these complaints as only it knows how. You have to watch this hilarious clip from SNL's new episode called "Tech Talk: iPhone 5..."

Reuters reaffirms reports of October 23 Apple event

Friday morning, a report surfaced claiming that Apple was planning to hold a media event on October 23 to announce the long-rumored iPad mini. But given that we heard a similar story for the 17th, we remained skeptical.

RedSn0w receives major update with new restoring features

The iPhone Dev-Team has released a significant update for its popular jailbreak utility known as RedSn0w tonight. The update brings the software to version 0.9.15b1, and includes a number of new features.

A4 device owners will be happy to hear that Cydia is now included in the tethered iOS 6 jailbreak, so no more SSH work, and you can now restore devices to earlier firmware without the lengthy stitching process.

Now that we've got that taken care of, let's get your iPhone photography moving! In this lesson I want to introduce you to a cool little technique we call 'panning'. The goal of this technique it to keep your moving subject in focus and turn the background into a blur of motion. The way you achieve this look is to have your subject move past you as you 'pan' your iPhone in pace with your subject as you take your photo. Here's an example of this technique in action...
