Apple has apparently acquired another personal assistant company. It's called Cue, and it's the startup firm behind the personal assistant app for iPhone, of the same name, which shut down earlier this week.

The company, formerly known as Greplin, was a Y Combinator  alumnus, announced to its users on Tuesday that the service would be shutting down, and that premium users would receive a prorated refund...

Official Google Music app expected to launch on iOS later this month

It's been more than two years since Google unveiled its Music service, and the company has yet to launch an official iOS client. Sure, there's been plenty of third-party apps, and a web app, but nothing native directly from Google.

But according to a new report from Engadget, that could change very soon. Citing sources familiar with the company's plans, the outlet claims that Google is testing a Music app internally, and plans to launch it later this month...

Apple's iPhone and iPad lines are both set to get larger displays, according to a new report from Korea's ET news. The outlet claims to have knowledge of the company's future product plans, and has outlined a series of sweeping changes.

For starters, the report says that the iPhone is set to get a bump in display size to over 5-inches. And it goes on to explain that the iPad is going to get split into pro and entry-level models, with at least one model getting a 13-inch display...

Gentlemen, start your engines: NASCAR Redline races its way into the App Store

I've never been a big fan of NASCAR but I do remember spending a big chunk of my pocket money on the arcade game Daytona USA. I specifically recall races starting with the iconic "gentlemen, start your engines" announcement.

Fastforward to today, and I'm still not a big NASCAR fan, but I can certainly appreciate some of the strategies that go into the races. The right set of brakes, tires, or suspension can actually make or break a race.

NASCAR: Redline is the first officially licensed NASCAR game to make its way in the App Store. Although you won't be in the driver seat, your role will be to ensure that every decision made is the right one in order to take your team to the victory...

Snapchat 6.0 is out with new ‘Snapchat Stories’ feature

Snapchat has posted a new version of its iOS client today, bringing the app to version 6.0. The update only includes one new feature—but it's a major new feature, which the company is calling 'Snapchat Stories.'

The best way to describe the feature is that it's sort of similar to Facebook's News Feed. Story entries are essentially status updates that show your friends what you've been up to in the last 24 hours, using pictures...

Imagine the scene. Your iPhone 5s has finally shipped from China and Apple has generated a UPS or FedEx tracking code for you. Of course, you eagerly refresh the courier's website to find out where exactly your precious currently is. If your like me, and I'll assume you are, you'll probably track the package a dozen times a day until it's there.

What if I told you there is a completely free and elegant way to do just that directly from your iPhone? Even better, what if it came with push notifications to let you know about every step of the delivery? That's exactly what Delivered! does...

Schools complain of iPad web filter issues after iOS 7 update

Apple's been making a big push into education in recent months, updating iTunes to allow users under the age of 13 and touting new features in iOS 7. It says the update makes it 'easier for institutions to put devices in the hands of students.'

But for many schools with student iPads deployed, the update is actually making things more difficult. Various educators across the US are reporting that iOS 7 has left their devices unfiltered when accessing the Internet away from school...

Apple’s iSpaceship campus clears another Cupertino hurdle toward 2016 landing

Apple's over-budget and behind-schedule proposed 'spaceship' campus took another step closer to reality Wednesday night. The plan first outlined in 2011 by Steve Jobs cleared the planning commission of Cupertino, Calif., Apple's homebase.

If no more hitches appear, the new Apple headquarters will go to city council later this month with final thumbs-up or thumbs-down in November...

Chrome’s incognito mode is flawed in latest iOS 7 update

For all of you folks buying gifts in secret for your loved ones, beware; Chrome's incognito mode has a flaw that allows users to recover searches performed in private. A new video has surfaced showcasing the flaw in action, and iDB has independently verified, that indeed, Incognito mode on the iOS version of Chrome ain't so incognito.

The problem occurs when searching in incognito mode and then exiting incognito mode and performing a web search on Google.com. The issue doesn't occur when exiting Google.com and searching using Chrome's Omnibox.

Incognito mode has never been exactly fail proof on iOS, but this is still a pretty embarrassing gaffe for Google.

Fingerprint sensors coming to Android devices in the next 6 months

Of course it was just a matter of time. As always, Apple wasn't first to market, but it was the first to make fingerprint sensors a popular technology that will be used in many future devices. This shift is happening barely two weeks after the iPhone 5s launched. Can't innovate my ass!

But six months from now Barrett says he will be able to choose from the latest Android models that will come equipped with a biometric sensor capable of letting him swipe his fingerprint to access a wide range of his online accounts.

That's the scenario being proactively pursued by the FIDO Alliance, a group of 48 tech companies, led by PayPal and Lenovo, hustling to implement a milestone technical standard.
