‘AlbumSnapper’ is now available on Cydia

AlbumSnapper—the awesome new jailbreak tweak that allows you to create and assign photos to albums on the fly—is now available for download on Cydia. The tweak, which is available for $0.99, was reviewed a few weeks ago and was met with a positive response.

To use AlbumSnapper, just tap the Album button that appears next to the front facing camera button inside of the stock Camera app. Doing so will invoke a sheet that allows you to select a designated album for the photos that you snap. Infinity Blade II goes free as App Store’s latest Free App of the Week

Chair Entertainment's Infinity Blade III is still on sale following the massive 'Blade Masters' update and now its predecessor, Infinity Blade II, has been slashed to zero bucks, courtesy of Apple's ongoing Free App of the Week promotion (last week's free app: Fun Golf GPS 3D).

This means that you can download this elegiac masterpiece free of charge until next Thursday, after which it will go back up to its normal asking price of seven bucks.

It's a universal app so you can play it on both your iPhone and iPad. Again, this game is downright awesome so you'll most certainly regret passing on this deal if you don't act pronto. The triple-A iOS exclusive has been built on Epic Games' Unreal engine and is the closest thing to a system-seller on Apple's platform.

Go grab Infinity Blade II in the App Store now!

Beats releases improved Solo2 on-ear headphones

Less than 24 hours into Apple's announcement that it is buying Beats for $3 billion, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre's startup has announced a refreshed version of its best-selling headphones model, the Solo². Of course, this has nothing to do with Apple as the accessory has been in the making for months.

The new on-ear headphones offer a more dynamic, wider range of sound and a clarity that will "bring you closer to what the artist intended". The design has been revised for a better custom-fit feeling...

T-Mobile announces Uncarrier 5.0 event slated for June 18

Somewhere during the craziness of Apple confirming the Beats acquisition deal yesterday, T-Mobile announced that it will be hosting a media event next month. The carrier sent out invitations for an Uncarrier 5.0 event, to be held in Los Angeles on June 18.

The invite, posted above, reads 'we don't play it safe and sound,' but offers few clues on what T-Mobile is going to announce. In previous 'Uncarrier' events, however, the company has addressed various parts of the wireless business that most annoy consumers...

Popular RSS client Reeder 2 now available in the Mac App Store

After extensive beta testing, popular RSS client Reeder 2 has landed in the Mac App Store. This is the app's first update on the Mac since Google shutdown its Google Reader service last year, which essentially broke most RSS clients.

As with the iOS version, Reeder 2 for Mac adds support for a number of RSS services that have tried to fill the gap left by Google, such as Feedbin and Feedly. And it also now serves as a standalone RSS client, so no syncing is required...

iTunes surpasses 35 billion songs sold, iTunes Radio hits 40 million listeners

Speaking at last night's inaugural Code Conference, Apple SVP of Internet services Eddy Cue and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine shared some numbers on their respective music services following yesterday's major acquisition.

Iovine talked Beats Music, and Cue of course talked iTunes, which have each hit major milestones within the last week. Beats has surpassed the quarter million subscriber mark, and iTunes hit 35 billion digital downloads sold...

Eddy Cue: today’s TV experience sucks

Last night, Apple’s Eddy Cue (and Jimmy Iovine) joined Recode's Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher on stage at the Code Conference to discuss a wide range of topics. The focus was obviously on the recently announced Beats acquisition, but as you can imagine, other interesting stuff came up as well.

One of the more noteworthy bits came after Cue was questioned on the long-rumored Apple TV update. Mossberg said it's clear Apple has been wanting to do a big TV project for a long time, and Tim Cook has even alluded to it on a few occasions, but we haven't seen anything yet. Here's Cue's response...

Eddy Cue: Apple’s best product pipeline in 25 years coming later this year

'Has Apple lost its ability to innovate?' has become a common theme among critics in recent years, who note that the company hasn't released a groundbreaking new product since the iPad in 2010. And going halfway through 2014 without mention of a new gadget hasn't helped its cause.

But according to Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue, that's about to change. The executive sat down with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher at the Code Conference last night to talk about the recent high-profile Beats acquisition, and set major expectations for the fall...

Apple acquires Beats for $3 billion

After weeks of speculation, Apple confirmed just moments ago that it has reached a deal to acquire Beats Electronics and Beats Music for $3 billion. Beats co-founders Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre will be joining Apple, the company announced. Beats is best known for its popular lineup of headphones, speakers and audio software, and in January launched a new streaming music service called Beats Music in partnership with AT&T.

This marks the largest acquisition that Apple has ever made, divided into a purchase price of $2.6 billion and approximately $400 million that will vest over time. But it comes at a pivotal time for Apple, as iTunes music sales decline in light of the rising popularity of streaming music services. Apple will now operate its own streaming music service in Beats Music, going head on against competitors like Spotify and Pandora…

Tim Cook interviews offer more details on Beats acquisition

In addition to giving comments for the press release and writing a memo to employees, Tim Cook apparently invited a handful of high profile journalists to Apple's Cupertino headquarters today to talk about the just-announced Beats acquisition.

Cook spoke with reporters from the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Financial Times and other publications this afternoon on the Beats buyout. And we've rounded up some of the more interesting tidbits from each interview, below...
