The Scarf is the perfect ultrathin iPhone 6 case for minimalists

If like me you're not into cases but do care about adding a layer of protection to your iPhone, then you might want to check out The Scarf, an ultrathin case made by California-based company Totallee. Self proclaimed the world's thinnest case, The Scarf is 0.35 mm thin, and weights less than 0.20 ounces (about 5.5 grams), which equals to about the weight of a standard sheet of paper. In essence, The Scarf is the perfect case for the minimalists who usually wouldn't use a case, such as me.

Made of lightweight yet tough polypropylene, The Scarf provides basic protection against scratches and daily wear and tear, while complimenting your iPhone with a minimalistic design.

TimeCube sends you on a time traveling adventure

Most arcade games put you behind the controls of a ship or object that you must maneuver around to avoid being hit by some obstacle. It is a game mechanic that we are so familiar with that it is difficult to imagine any other way to do it.

TimeCube takes those rules and tosses them out into the infinite universe. Instead of controlling your ship, you control the environment around it. You don’t have the ability to move obstacles out of the way, but you can slow down or speed up time to avoid being hit.

Jump looks retro like Pong, but plays like a 21st century arcade game

Pong may be have been created 42 years ago, but its legacy lives on in the hearts of gamers everywhere. It also lives on in the design aesthetic of game developers. Its minimalist visage may have been a necessity of the times, but it got the job done with very little visual details and still made for an excellent video game.

Jump has a similar artistic appeal. It is made up of dashes and dots. However, don’t let the looks fool you. This is nothing like Pong when it comes to game mechanics. You might think it is more fun, depending on your opinion of arcade games.

The best Games of 2014

For me, when it comes to games, there are so many amazing ones that it is difficult to decide which gets top billing. When Sebastien asked for my pick, I almost had an anxiety attack just thinking about it.

Luckily, the pick for best apps and games is a collaborative effort and the weight of this list did not rest solely on my shoulders. The writing team at iDB submitted their favorites for this year’s best game and the entries were put to a vote. The winner, runner-ups, and the game we think is the best ever, are listed for you below.

CarPlay Activator rebranded as ‘Ignition’ launches for free on Cydia

CarPlay Activator, a tweak that we reviewed in depth a few weeks ago, is now available for download on Cydia as Ignition. The tweak, which is remarkably free of charge, is from well-respected developer Adam Bell. If you're not interested in dropping north of $500 on a CarPlay head unit with a terrible resistive touch screen, then Ignition may be the answer to your CarPlay desires.

ReachApp will bring true split-screen multitasking to iOS 8

Reachability continues to be a feature of focus for jailbreak developers, but I have to say that this latest upcoming jailbreak tweak takes the cake. ReachApp is an in-development jailbreak tweak that brings true split-screen multitasking to iOS 8 by means of Reachability. That means that yes, you can view two apps at the same time, and interact with both apps! Watch our video to see how it works in action.

Auxo 3 review: a legendary tweak inches closer to perfection

After much anticipation, I finally have my hands on Auxo 3—exactly two years to the day of the original Auxo release date. This is a jailbreak tweak a long time in the making. It's the second sequel to one of the most well-known and impactful jailbreak tweaks in the community's storied history, and it doesn't disappoint.

If I could put it into a nutshell, I'd say that Auxo 3 is a much-refined version Auxo 2. Lead designer, Sentry, and developer, Qusic, refrain from deviating drastically from the things that made Auxo 2 such a compelling update, but the pair does bring quite a few new interesting features and refinements to the table. This ultimately proves to be a very good thing.

NYT: Sony wanted Apple to stream “The Interview” – Apple reportedly said no

Another twist to "The Interview" movie: The New York Times reports Sony asked the White House for help in lining up a single technology partner to stream its movie "The Interview", and it wanted help from none other than Apple's iTunes.

The Cupertino-based Apple reportedly was not interested, "at least not on a speedy time table," the New York Times says. An Apple spokesman declined to provide official comment on the matter.
