Sproggiwood review: a roguelike of adorable proportions

Some of my most beloved and hated games are rogeulike. I love the adventure of crawling through level after level of dungeons, looting gold and killing baddies. However, I hate permadeath.

Sproggiwood is a roguelike that will make you want to pull your hair out whenever you die, but is too dang cute to get mad at. We've got a game review of Sproggiwood for you today.

Apple Music-inspired wallpapers for iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch

Last week during WWDC 2015, Apple spent a majority of time launching Apple Music and the corresponding iTunes 13 for OS X. The service will not launch until June 30, but the new Music app logo is already available for download in the iOS 9 beta.

Inside you will find inspired wallpapers for iPad, iPhone and, for the first time, Apple Watch. This fall, watchOS 2 will allow users to set wallpaper images from a specified folder on the device. Start your collection today.

Tweaks of the week: ControlF, QuickUnlock, and more

Even if news of a jailbreak for iOS 8.3 has been floating around, we shouldn't yell victory too soon. As far as I'm concerned, I won't get excited until there is tangible evidence that this is indeed happening. In the meantime, we can all look at we can use right now, namely a bunch of tweaks that have recently been released on Cydia.

iOS 9 includes Markup feature to let you annotate email attachments

Similar to a feature that first made its way to the Mail app under OS X Yosemite, iOS 9 now includes Markup, a tool that lets you annotate email attachments, including image files as well as PDFs, effectively turning the Mail app into a more powerful one with a growing focus on productivity.

Just like its OS X counterpart, Markup for iOS 9 allows you to sketch, zoom, add text, and sign documents on the go. Absent from the list of annotations is the Shape button, which lets you easily insert squares, circles, etc.

Markup for iOS 9 works for both incoming or outgoing attachments, meaning that you can annotate either the attachments you receive, or those that you send. This seems to actually go hand in hand with another new iOS 9 feature that lets you attach documents from iCloud Drive.

A closer look at Apple Watch apps: PCalc, Notes, and Dispatch

I’m looking forward to the day when an iteration of the Elder Scrolls will come to iPad. Imagine strolling through Tamriel on your Retina display, engaging in Infinity Blade-style combat with man and beast. It’d be glorious. I’m not sure that day will ever come, but I’m anticipating it just the same. I’ll be happy when the latest version of iPad has the hardware to run such a game, regardless.

Instead of discussing my recently renewed obsession with Skyrim, we’re here to talk about some noteworthy Apple Watch apps that I've come across recently, so let us begin.

Bumpies Minimalist Corner Case keeps your iPhone 6 mostly naked

Since the dawn of the iPhone, there have been arguments about whether you should protect your iPhone with a case or leave it completely uncovered to show off its beautiful design. What if there was a way to have the best of both worlds? Well, there is.

Bumpies Minimalist Corner Case is not a case at all. It is actually four small griping pieces of shock-absorbing material that stick to the corners of your iPhone 6, leaving the rest of the beautifully designed smartphone completely naked.

Try Harder, Kolekktio, Kite, and more to check out this weekend

It is never too late to start something new. If you've never been a gamer, why not check out a popular game that everyone is talking about on your iPhone? If you've never tried to pick someone up in a bar, try using a social networking app to make it easier.

This weekend, instead of following the same schedule you always do, try something new. We've got a list of apps and games that might inspire you to strike out on a new adventure. Have fun.

Developers hack Apple Watch to run native apps

Developers Steve Troughton-Smith and Adam Bell, with the help of saurik, have managed to hack watchOS 2 to run fully-native apps. As noted by 9to5Mac, Troughton-Smith posted a video last night showing evidence of the feat.

The big deal here is that even though Apple says that support for native apps is coming in watchOS 2, developers are still going to be limited on what they can do. This hack, however, breaks those limitations, allowing the use of all accessible iOS UI frameworks.

Modern Combat 5 and Spider-Man Unlimited gain ton of new content, customization and more

In addition to teasing Siegefall, its gorgeous-looking online multiplayer strategy game hitting iOS soon, Gameloft has also updated its two popular iPhone and iPad games with tons of new features in latest content updates.

For starters, a whole range of new Spideys are now available in Spider-Man Unlimited for the iPhone and iPad, in addition to official support for 'Made for iPhone' controllers and a bunch of other improvements.

At the same time, the popular first-person shooter Modern Combat 5: Blackout has gained new weapons and customization options, including weapon trinkets, weapon camps and several new killsigns.

Gameloft teases Siegefall, an amazing online multiplayer strategy game with dragons and heroes

Ahead of next week's annual Electronic Entertainment Expo bonanza in Los Angeles, French games maker Gameloft is teasing Siegefall, its forthcoming mobile game from the same team that brought you the first four installments of Modern Combat, the popular first-person shooter franchise. In Siegefall, you arrive in a realm where battles are being fought over lands and crowns.

While full details are yet to be released, we know that Siegefall will let you summon dragons, control heroes, smash gates and “leave nothing but rubble behind.”

Embattled BlackBerry considering Android phones

Research In Motion saw its fortunes spectacularly erased in a few short years following the iPhone's release in the summer of 2007. Fast-forward to 2015 and the company is now considering  putting Google's Android software on its phones in a complete U-turn for the Canadian handset maker, according to a report Friday by Reuters.

It's unclear whether the rumored switch would spell the end of the company's own BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system.

RIM once dominated smartphone sales but now has a market share of less than one percent. Moreover, a former BlackBerry CEO has publicly admitted that Apple's iPhone has single-handily killed his company's treasured BlackBerry family of smartphones famed for their enterprise security and clickety-clack keyboards.

Apple brand leather case for iPhone 6 is an elegant minimalist solution

Very few other companies, especially in the tech industry, are able to fully capture the essence of minimalism quite the way Apple does. It is about more than just simplicity. Apple manages to merge elegant beauty with restraint.

The iPhone 6 Leather Case is a great example of Apple's ability to combine a stylish aesthetic with simply beauty. The case provides protection from scratches, while maintaining the minimalist design we appreciate from the company.
