Ahead of next week's September 16th's iOS 9 public release, Apple has seeded the iOS 9 Golden Master seed. This release, baring any unforeseen circumstances, will contain the same code that ships to customers next week.
Apple also took the time to release the first public beta of iOS 9.1. Reports have stated that the newly announced iPad Pro will come with iOS 9.1 once it ships in November.
Both iOS 9 GM and iOS 9.1 beta 1 are now available for download via Apple's Developer Center.
Alongside its new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple on Wednesday announced the iPhone Upgrade Program. It's an in-house upgrade program, similar to the installment plans carriers offer, which allows you to get a new iPhone every year for a monthly fee.
During the iPhone 6s section of today's Apple event, Apple SVP Phil Schiller announced an incredible new feature called Live Photos. As the name suggests, Live Photos will essentially bring your photos to life by capturing small snippets (1.5 seconds) of video right before and after you take a photo.
You'll be able to view the Live Photos on your iPhone 6s by activating 3D Touch, and Apple says playback will be available on Photos in El Capitan on the Mac, iPhone, iPad, and even Apple Watch. And since they're not technically videos, it claims they don't take up much more space than photographs.
Apple's just-announced iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available for pre-order on Saturday, September 12th, and ship on September 25th. The iPhone 6s starts at $199 on contract, while the iPhone 6s Plus will be available for $100 more at $299 on contract. Both phones start with 16GB of flash storage space, and as Apple has done for many years now, price increases occur incrementally based on the amount of flash storage.

As expected, the next-generation set-top box features an App Store, and Apple invited some developers up on stage today to give us an idea of its potential. The game you see above is a Wii Sports-like motion game, called Beats Sports, from Rock Band developer Harmonix.
The slide you see above is Apple's updated iPad lineup, which includes the just-announced iPad Pro and the new iPad mini 4. On stage, Phil Schiller mentioned that apple was updating its mini tablet line, but he didn't offer up many details. It sounds, though, like it's going to have the internals of the iPad Air 2.
Apple's iPad line now starts at $279, with the mini 2, and ranges all the way up to $1079, for the iPad Pro 128GB Wi-Fi + cellular model.
“TV plays a huge role in our lives and occupies an important place in our homes where we gather,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook at today's media event in San Francisco as he unveiled a fourth-generation Apple TV set-top box. “We believe the future of television is apps,” Cook said.
Over sixty percent of pay TV content is consumed through Apple devices, in apps, he added. The fourth-generation Apple TV, as you might have suspected, has a powerful hardware and runs a modern operating system which delivers a brand new user experience. And of course, it has an App Store of its own and Apple readily provides an official software development kit for its developers to create apps for it.
