How to choose which contacts appear in the Phone app 3D Touch shortcut menu

Are the contacts in the 3D Touch shortcut menu of the Phone app confusing you? Upon pressing Phone's icon lightly, a menu pops up with four seemingly random contacts, making it easy to call them quickly from the Home screen. Believe it or not, there's actually some logic behind listing these quick contacts. Even better, you can change their order as well as set other people to be listed in Phone's shortcut menu.

Hacker shows off untethered jailbreak for iOS 9.2, 9.2.1, & 9.3 beta

We haven't seen a public jailbreak release for iOS since the Pangu 9 jailbreak for iOS 9.0-9.0.2, and as a result of the slowness in the jailbreak scene, many are either stuck without a jailbreak or are living without the latest features and performance/security improvements Apple brings to the table in current iOS releases.

But for those that are still hoping for another jailbreak to appear soon, iOS hacker qwertyoruiop has demonstrated that it is possible to jailbreak untethered iOS 9.2, 9.2.1, and 9.3 beta.

The hit-and-miss Taiwanese trade publication has it on good authority, citing sources from the upstream supply chain, that Apple supplier Largan Technology and two unnamed Japan and China-based vendors have shipped dual-lens camera samples to 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, for testing.

Episode 120: After resisting the temptation, Sebastien finally cuts the cord (the cable one anyway). The discussion drifts towards Apple's recent financial reports, and the timely facts and rumors about the company's interest in Virtual Reality. A great show that fits in just about an hour. Enjoy!

Joli Originals offers a premium leather sleeve for iPad Pro

Recently, finding time in my schedule to offer a review has been very difficult. However, some products just beg to have a closer look and Joli Original's iPad sleeve for iPad Pro is one of those accessories. After receiving my iPad Pro, I began the quest to find a protective covering, but was not interested in Apple's expensive cases or the Smart Keyboard. As a fan of using naked devices, I was only looking for a simple, protective case when I found Joli Originals.

After browsing the product site, I felt like a sleeve was the best way of protecting my iPad Pro, but still giving me quick access to the device in its truest form. Based on the product images, I was convinced the Smooth Collection was a high quality sleeve, that would very well match the premium experience of the iPad Pro. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words and this case certainly fits the bill.

How to annotate email attachments in iOS with Markup

One of the major features that shipped with iOS 9 was Markup, better known for the ability to draw on and annotate attachments of various file types that you receive in the Mail app and then send them back to the original sender, or someone else for that matter.

Despite how useful this feature is, few people actually use it, either because they don't know it exists or they don't know how to access it. In this tutorial, we'll take you through how to access it and cover some of the features it provides.

Review: Channels – watch live TV on your Apple TV with an HDHomeRun [video]

If you want to watch live TV on your Apple TV with an HDHomeRun, you can go the free route by using Kodi, but Channels is by far the best live TV watching experience to be had on Apple TV. Not only does Fancy Bits' Channels app allow you to watch live TV, but you can also pause and rewind local or cable TV directly from your Apple TV when paired together with an HDHomeRun.

If you're unsure what an HDHomeRun is, or how it can help you, then be sure to check out our post on the device. In a nutshell, the HDHomeRun allows you to stream free (or paid) television over your home network. The Channels app can then acquire the stream made available by the HDHomeRun, and display it on your television.

At $14.99 for a limited time (normally $24.99), Channels isn't cheap, but it's a great-looking and overall solid experience for cord cutters. Have a look at our full video walkthrough for more details.
