A bulletproof iPhone case, because you can never be too careful

We all like to protect our iPhones and iPads as much as possible, which explains why the case making business is such a lucrative one. If you look anywhere online, then you'll be able to find an iPhone or iPad case to suit your mood and price range. Choice is clearly king.

Even with all that choice though, we are willing to say that it is a safe bet that you haven't come across one of these cases before. For starters, it isn't the best looking case around there, and it certainly isn't the thinnest at one-inch thick. It ain't the cheapest either, at $648 per unit.

It does have one thing going for it,though. Namely, this particular case is bulletproof...

There is no doubting that our iOS devices are beginning to use even more power than their ever-increasing batteries can provide them. It's an unfortunate fact that while we continue to crave smaller, thinner and lighter device, something inevitably has to give. In most cases, that thing is battery life.

The iPhone 4S for example isn't exactly known for its ability to hold a charge. We've covered various power-related issues with the iPhone 4S over the months since its release, and alas, things don't really seem to have improved with subsequent iOS releases. The iPad has more than a few accessories already, but we've not seen one quite like this and, to be honest, we don't really know what to think about it.

Shown off at this year's CES, the GameChanger by Identity Games gives gamers a way to turn a $500 iPad into a board game, which sounds both awesome and incredibly boring at the same time. The idea is simple: use the board as the main game board with the iPad providing digital interaction, either asking questions or providing other uses.

The iPad connects to the GameChanger using its dock connector, giving the game board a connection with allows it to feed information back to the tablet. This allows the game app to tailor the experience according to where pieces are on the game board, for example...
