macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 2 available to public testers

Just about 24 hours after releasing macOS Sierra 10.12.2 beta 2 to developers, Apple has now pushed the software to public testers as well. Members of the public beta program can update to beta 2 directly from the Mac App Store.

macOS Sierra 10.12.2 doesn't seem to offer many new user-facing features besides a myriad of new emojis that are part of unicode 9. Other improvements are apparently under the hood, likely offering bug fixes and stability improvements.

Let’s Talk iOS 160: The Pro in MacBook Pro

After discussing some of the new features in the latest betas of iOS 10.2, and tvOS 10.1, including the new TV app, and Single Sign-On, Cody and Sebastien discuss the backlash that has been following the launch of the new MacBook Pro. Where is the Pro in the MacBook Pro? Is the Pro just an average machine sold at a Pro price? Listen in!

Does Apple care about the Mac?

In a piece for MacWorld, Jason Snell looks back at this lackluster year for the Mac where expectations were high, but where Apple failed to deliver on many levels. And where it delivered, it seems that it did so by alienating some of its core base of users while increasing prices on everybody else.

CMRA: the awesome Apple Watch strap with integrated cameras you’ll never buy

The idea of having a camera on your Apple Watch is an interesting one. As tech becomes smaller and batteries become more capable, this is definitely a direction Apple will take at some point, but we're just too early in development.

That's where a startup comes in with CMRA, a band for Apple Watch that adds not one, but two HD cameras to the strap, allowing you to easily and quickly shoot photos or record videos. Well, in theory anyway.

Let’s Talk Jailbreak 155: In my wildest dreams

Without any new jailbreak on the horizon, things are pretty mellow around here. During this episode, Cody and Sebastien discuss the state of iOS 10 jailbreaking, and several noteworthy tweaks including Lockbrowser, Crypto, Playdismiss, and more.

Our problem with Apple

Chuq Von Rospach has a great piece about how Apple could have avoided much of the controversy following last week's Mac event. It's a great read, but the one line I will remember is that one:

We demand Apple innovate, but we insist they don’t change anything.

This truly resonated with me because it's a feeling I've had for a long time but never was able to express in a clear and simple manner. Chuq did in in just eleven words.

Read the whole piece when you have a few minutes.

Let’s Talk iOS 159: Thoughts on the new MacBook Pro

The star of the show is of course the new MacBook Pro but before discussing all about it, Cody and Sebastien talk about Apple's latest financial results, and the delayed launch of the new AirPods. The guys then talk about the new TV app that was unveiled at last week's event, and go into more details about the new MacBook Pro, and the state of the laptop line of products at Apple.
