Creating Folders on Your iPhone

It's hard to believe that there was once a time when iPhone owners had to do without folders. To make matters worse, iPad owners are just recently reaping the benefits of folders.

Prior to this revelation in organization, our apps were scattered across screen upon screen, making it extremely difficult to find a specific app quickly.

If you're new to the iPhone, or just need a brief refresher course, this iPhone Basics tutorial will explain how to use and manage your folders properly...

Resistance Was Futile: Garmin Finally Launches GPS iPhone App

I don't think there was any question as to if Garmin would release an iPhone app, it was more of just a question of when. After dragging their feet for what seemed like an eternity, Garmin has finally released its first iPhone navigation app, entitled StreetPilot.

Is it too late for the company who is widely considered to be the best manufacturer of stand alone GPS systems, or can they sway customers away from Navigon and TomTom?

RedSn0w 0.9.6rc7 Released to Include ‘One Click’ Support

One bad thing about tethered jailbreaks, besides the obvious fact that you have to be near a computer to reboot your phone back into jailbreak mode, is the time it takes to perform a tethered boot.

No doubt the Dev Team has received numerous requests asking for a more streamlined approach to performing a tethered boot. The results of such requests is RedSn0w 0.9.6rc7, which includes one click support that will make booting your iPhone slightly less time consuming.

‘TV Tube Sleep’ Puts Your iPhone to Sleep Old School Style

This has to be one of the coolest jailbreak tweaks I've seen, from a purely eye-pleasing perspective: it puts your iPhone to sleep in the style of an old TV tube.

I've always thought that the iPhone's sleep animation (can I even call it that?) was pretty boring, so any tweak that adds some spice in this area is a welcome addition if you ask me...

‘StartDial’ Makes Sure that Dialing is Your Top Priority

I don't know about you, but ever since mobile phones with address books have been popular, I have an awfully hard time remembering anyone's actual phone number, even close friends and family.

I know that's pretty pathetic, but I bet the majority of you are in my boat as well. This makes the concept behind StartDial all the more intriguing. Why would anyone want to make their phone.app always open to the dialer?

How to Use Queuing in Cydia to Download Multiple Jailbreak Apps Simultaneously

I used to always dread when I would restore my iPhone, and have to re-download all of my jailbreak apps and tweaks again. This wasn't so much because jailbreaking in itself was difficult, it was because Cydia was so incredibly slow and cumbersome.

Now that Cydia has been updated, the whole experience is drastically improved. The load times are shorter, and the queuing functionality is much more refined.

Oddly enough, most of the people I know don't even use queuing or know what it is. Simply put, queuing allows you to queue up multiple items, and process them all at the same time. It makes downloading and even uninstalling a bunch of items at once, a seamless affair...

‘Move LockScreen to Unlock’ Makes Unlocking Your iPhone Even Easier

As if something so mundane actually needed to be easier, but yes, strangely enough, Move LockScreen to Unlock does indeed make unlocking your iPhone easier.

It's actually a pretty cool jailbreak tweak, because it makes unlocking your iPhone possible without even looking at the screen; though most of you can likely pull this off anyway.

This can be pretty useful if you're half asleep, and you need to quickly unlock your iPhone for whatever reason. I know, it sounds lazy, but hear me out here...

Go Native! A Jailbreak Tweak that Adds Multitasking to Your Outdated Apps

By now, there's absolutely no excuse for an app not to support Fast App Switching, the iPhone's form of multitasking. It's been about six months since iOS 4 appeared on the scene, an update in which we finally received native multitasking on our iPhones.

Understandably, not all of our apps flew out of the gate with multitasking support built in; slowly but surely, they were updated to add support for such a critical feature. Sadly, there remain apps that have been neglected; apps that have yet to taste the sweet nectar of multitasking.

This is where jailbreaking comes in handy. Jailbreak apps like Backgrounder have provided an incredible workaround for these neglected apps. Go Native! adds yet another option to the playing field, but can it compete with Backgrounder?

Keeping Your iPhone in Tip Top Shape

Whether you plan to resell your iPhone when your contract runs out, or if you just want to keep it looking like new, there are many ways and many reasons to keep your iPhone in good shape.

Obviously, you'll want to look into purchasing a screen protector and a case, but is there anything else you can do to keep your iPhone looking svelte? Check inside for the answers in this latest video entry of our ongoing iPhone Basics series...

It Looks Like HTC Has Their Own Antenna Issues to Worry About

Apple took loads of heat earlier this year due to the issues surrounding the iPhone 4 so-called 'Death Grip' which causes the signal strength to plummet when the phone is held a certain way. Apple replied by saying that all smartphones suffer from this issue to a certain degree, a point that HTC notably took issue with.

Unfortunately for Apple, the popularity of their products put a huge red target on their backs, and the fact that they didn't properly own up to the issues didn't help them much either.

But that's not the end of this story. Now, another popular phone manufacturer, HTC, is caught in the middle of a similar controversy with their flagship Windows Phone 7, the HTC HD7...

Skype Launches Teaser Site for Mobile Video Chat

As if this wasn't already enough, Skype has further removed the veil concerning its pending announcement at January's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

In what can only be described as an Apple-esque marketing approach, Skype video chat looks destined to make the jump outside of the desktop and into the mobile platform. The only question remaining is, which platforms will it jump to?

Is RubyRa1n GeoHot’s New iPhone Jailbreak?

When it rains in the jailbreak scene, that's a good thing. Now it looks like there might be some scattered showers in our forecast in the form of RubyRa1n, which is reportedly iPhone liberator GeoHot's lastest and greatest jailbreak tool.

The evidence? A domain name registered in his name on the same day that his most recent jailbreak tool, LimeRa1n, was registered...
