How to subscribe to WhatsApp Plus on iPhone or Android

Enhance your texting experience by subscribing to WhatsApp Plus on your iPhone or Android phone. Unlock premium features like app themes, special ringtones, stickers, and more for $2.99, €2.49, or ₹79 per month in the USA, Europe, India, or other countries.

WhatsApp Plus subscription on iPhone

The premium subscription for WhatsApp is officially called WhatsApp Plus (not WhatsApp Pro or WhatsApp Premium).

You can subscribe to it only through the official app on an iPhone or Android phone, using Apple App Store or Google Play Store billing.

You cannot subscribe to WhatsApp Plus in the iPad app, computer app, or a web browser. Secondly, not all premium features (such as chat themes and premium ringtones) are available in the iPad app, desktop app, or web browser, even after you have subscribed from your iPhone or Android phone.

Important: WhatsApp Plus isn’t available in all countries yet. Try again after a few days if you don’t see it.

What you get with a WhatsApp Plus subscription

As of writing, here’s everything you get by subscribing to WhatsApp Plus:

  • Custom app icons for WhatsApp on your Home Screen (by the way, you can also do it for free by using the Apple Shortcuts app)
  • App themes that change the look of WhatsApp
  • Exclusive stickers
  • Access to new ringtones for all or specific contacts
  • Custom lists to organize your chats
  • Pin up to 20 chats (free version limits you to 3 chats)

As evident from the above list, none of the premium features are revolutionary, but if you think you can benefit from them, subscribing is easy.

Plus, Meta offers you one month of free trial, so you can take the premium offerings for a spin, and cancel the subscription if you don’t find it useful.
