TrollStore updated to v1.2.1 with safety feature to avoid bootloops

TrollStore, the insanely popular perma-signing utility for iOS & iPadOS 14.0-15.4.1 (and some iOS 15.5 betas) received an update this Monday afternoon to version 1.2.1 with a couple of minor tweaks.

Citing the change log for TrollStore version 1.2.1, per the project’s GitHub page, the following changes are present in this release:

– New safety features ensuring it’s impossible to install .ipa files that have the same identifier as system applications already installed on the device

– Don’t patch the info.plist of TrollStore itself when updating TrollStore (an important change to fix issues with updating to future updates)

In case you were wondering why this update was required, it’s because some users reported getting stuck in a bootloop when using the same identifier as system applications/pre-installed apps.

Obviously, you wouldn’t want this to happen, so all users are now recommended to update to the latest version of TrollStore to take advantage of this safety feature.

If you’re an existing TrollStore user, then you can download the latest update using the OTA update mechanism in the TrollHelper app.

Those not already taking advantage of TrollStore can obtain it from the developer’s GitHub page. You can also use either of the step-by-step tutorials we’ve made below:
