Fuego, Remote Mouse & Keyboard, and other apps to check out this weekend

Welcome back for another fine edition of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have some great picks for you including a new vote-based social media app, live music concerts in AR, and a powerful remote control for your computer. And as always, we’ve selected a great game for you to check out.

Fuego – What’s Hot?

Here’s a different take on social media. Fuego is a story sharing app where users post pictures or videos on virtually any topic you can think of, and if you’re the first to post, you own the topic (meaning you get top post). But if someone comes along and replies to your topic, and gets more “Fuego” from other users, it becomes their topic.

Encore Studio: Live Music AR

Here’s another weird one. Encore Studio is an augmented reality app that allows you to transform any space into a live music venue. Simply design your AR stage with custom artwork, 3D objects and effects, and go live to display your talent. The app also offers live polls and video chat, and fans can pay their favorite artists via “claps.”

Remote Mouse & Keyboard

This one’s been around for a while, but it’s useful enough that I wanted to point to it for those who are unfamiliar. As the name implies, this app enables you to turn your iPhone or iPad (or Apple Watch) into a remote control for your Mac or PC. It works over WiFi, and it’s both easy to use and packed with a ton of features.

Charades: What am I?

If you’re looking for a new party game, check this one out. It’s essentially a mix between charades and Heads Up. You pick a deck category you want to play and one player lifts their device to their forehead, where it will show the other players a word or phrase. Then they must act out what the card says while the player holding the device tries to guess.
