Watch the official trailer for the Apple TV+ drama ‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey’ starring Samuel L. Jackson

News first broke about a new dramatic, limited TV series called The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey back in 2020. Things got quiet throughout 2021, but now that 2022 is here we can actually look forward to watching it. And to help build up some attention, we finally have the first official trailer.

Back in January of this year, Apple TV+ confirmed that the upcoming limited series would start streaming on Friday, March 11, 2022. At that time, the first two episodes of the series will be made available. After that, each subsequent episode will start streaming the following Friday until the limited series runs its course.

Samuel L. Jackson (The Banker) is set to star in the eponymous role, as an aging, ailing man who has been forgotten by just about everyone around him. Here’s Apple’s official description:

Ptolemy Grey, an ailing man is forgotten by his family, by his friends, and by even himself. Suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn, played by Dominique Fishback. When they learn about a treatment that can restore Ptolemy’s dementia-addled memories, it begins a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.

The series is based on the novel of the same name, which was originally published back in 2010 and written by Walter Mosley. Jackson and Mosley will be serving as executive producers on the project, with Mosley also adapting the screenplay from his novel.

The upcoming series also stars Walton Goggins (Justified), Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us), Damon Gupton (Bates Motel), Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (Coyote), and Omar Miller (The Unicorn).

What do you think, now that you’ve seen the trailer? Will you be checking out this drama when it arrives in March?
