Apple TV+ limited series ‘The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey’ starring Samuel L. Jackson sets March 11 premiere date

Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) is not a stranger to having work released on Apple TV+. The Banker came out some time ago, after all. But now he has a new project, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, coming soon to the streaming service. And now we finally know when it’s premiering.

Thanks to a report today from TVLine, Apple TV+’s limited series starring Jackson, and based on the novel of the same name written by Walter Mosley, we know the first two episodes will premiere on Friday, March 11, 2022. The six-episode series will have the subsequent episodes premiere each following Friday until it wraps up.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey sees Jackson taking the lead role as Grey, a man who has lost his memories and has also been forgotten by his friends and family. But, things take a turn when “suddenly left without his trusted caretaker and on the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn, played by BAFTA Award nominee Dominique Fishback”.

Fishback has previously appeared in Judas and the Black Messiah and The Deuce.

The plot goes on, adding:

When Ptolemy and Robyn learn about a treatment that can restore his dementia-addled memories, it launches a journey toward shocking truths about the past, present and future.

Jackson and Mosley will be serving as executive producers on the project, with Mosley also adapting the screenplay from his novel. That book was originally published in 2010.

The upcoming series also stars Walton Goggins (Justified), Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us), Damon Gupton (Bates Motel), Cynthia Kaye McWilliams (Coyote), and Omar Miller (The Unicorn).

Even though we have a premiere date now, we’re probably a ways off before we catch an official trailer. Though, Apple TV+ may surprise us with a teaser sooner rather than later. As soon as we know more, or have more to show, we’ll be sure to pass it along.

Are you looking forward to this one?
