Apple is ‘Saving Simon’ in a new short film shot on iPhone 13 Pro for the holidays

Do you think one of the reasons Apple worked so hard on improving the camera systems in iPhones is so that, one day, it wouldn’t have to rely on big, bulky cameras for its marketing efforts? No? Just a happy coincidence? That probably checks out.

In any event, Apple is back with yet another “Shot on iPhone” marketing effort. This time around it’s a holiday short film shot on the iPhone 13 Pro. This one’s a bit special, though, because it’s a family affair. The short film was shot by two Oscar nominees — Jason and Ivan Reitman. Those names might sound familiar to you, but, if not, Ivan is best known for directing the comedy classic Ghostbusters, and his son, Jason, just directed the latest sequel in the series, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Here’s Apple’s very brief description of the new short film, which you can watch above.

A story for everyone who can’t wait for the holidays to get here.

As you might expect, there is plenty of shine and polish on the latest Apple ad. There’s even some macro photography thrown in there for good measure. It’s a cute ad, with plenty of heart. And some comedy, too!
