There have been so many rumors about the next Apple Watch, and now Apple is here to settle them. The company has just unveiled its newest smartwatch during its California Streaming event. Welcome the new Apple Watch Series 7.
This is the next generation of Apple’s mega-popular wearable. It relies on a bigger screen, which is a welcomed change. But it also welcomes a slight design change to what has come before. It has the largest, most advanced display ever. It’s 20% more screen real estate than Series 6. Over 50% more screen area than Series 3. It has been completely redesigned to just 1.7mm, 40% thinner borders. This radically maximizes screen real area.
The case and the display have softer, more rounded corners. It’s 70% brighter when not being used, with the always-on display. It can fit more text on the screen.

Durability
The Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch to date. It has the most crack-resistant display. It’s dust-resistant now, too, along with still being water-resistant.
New QWERTY keyboard
Apple’s newest smartwatch features a much more comfortable typing experience, all things considered. The new QWERTY keyboard is slightly bigger with more discernible keys. And it can be tapped on for each individual key, or users can access QuickPath to swipe between letters to spell out what they want to say. And, thanks to machine learning, Apple says the Apple Watch can accurately guess the next word you want to say based on the actual context.
New watch faces (with watchOS 8)

watchOS 8 debuts additional watch faces designed specially for the larger display on Apple Watch Series 7. The new Contour face takes the dial right to the edge of the display and fluidly animates throughout the day, emphasizing the current hour. The new Modular Duo face leverages the extra screen area with two large, data-rich center complications. Separately, the classic World Time face, based on heritage watches and ideal for travelers, tracks the time in 24 time zones around a double dial, and is available on Apple Watch Series 4 and later. The Portraits face uses the depth capabilities of iPhone Portrait mode to compose a beautiful, personalized experience.
Charging and battery life
It charges faster with a new architecture, with a new fast charging USB-C cable (connected to the wireless charging puck). Eight minutes will get you eight hours of sleep tracking. It has 18 hours of battery life and charges 30 percent faster.

Pricing
Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399. The new models launch “later this fall.” Apple Watch Series 3 is now priced at $199, and the Apple Watch SE costs $279.
