Apple TV+ gives us a sneak peek at the sci-fi epic ‘Foundation’ ahead of September 24 premiere

It’s been a longtime coming (so to speak). Foundation is one of the most highly-anticipated series coming to Apple TV+. We’ve been waiting for an actual release date for months now, and we’ve finally have a date to circle n the calendar.

Today, Apple TV+ released a “sneak peek” at the upcoming series. It’s actually a second teaser trailer, so it’s more of a sizzle reel than anything else. We get some hints at the storyline, but it doesn’t go too deep into what the show will offer in its first season. The second teaser trailer measures in at just over two minutes, so you get plenty of beautiful footage to look at. Apple confirmed today Foundation will premiere globally on Friday, September 24, 2021.

Here’s the trailer:

And here’s how Apple describes the first season:

When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari’s claims, the ruling Cleons – a long line of emperor clones – fear their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they’re forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever.

Foundation stars SAG Award-winner and Emmy-nominee Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Terror) as Hari Seldon, while Lee Pace (The Guardians of the Galaxy) plays Brother Day. It also features Lou Llobell (Voyagers) will play Gaal, Leah Harvey (Fighting With My Family) is Salvor, Laura Birn (Void) as Demerzel, Terrence Mann (Critters) as Brother Dusk, and Cassian Bilton (If You Can Believe It) as Brother Dawn.

This second teaser continues to show off a great cast, stunning production design, and breathtaking visuals. And considering it’s based on one of the best series of sci-fi novels written by legendary author Isaac Asimov, there’s plenty of reasons to be excited. Of course, that’s a lot of pressure (especially for Apple TV+). Will Foundation live up to the hype?

We’ll find out on September 24, 201.
