Monument Valley, and its sequel Monument Valley 2, are some of the most popular puzzle games on iOS, and the studio behind those titles, Ustwo Games, now has a new project in the works.

The independent studio’s next game is all about adventure and wildlife, as the name might suggest. Alba: a Wildlife Adventure was revealed today by Ustwo Games via a quick teaser trailer (via Engadget). In the trailer we get to see just a glimpse of the game’s titular character, but we do get plenty of teases for the game’s art and direction. The trailer starts with a shot of a water bottle, and then we get to see a backpack, some eaten food, and a notebook. It’s a nice way to promote the company’s previous games — and show off a bird, too.

The teaser trailer includes a shot of a piece of paper that’s titled “Island clean up Initiative”, and then we see a DSLR camera and a bird-spotting book. There’s a newspaper that tells us “Girls start a wildlife league”, and then, finally, we get a shot of Alba overlooking a beach and forest.

It is all very colorful and adorable, so check out the teaser trailer below:

According to the report, the developers found inspiration for Alba: a Wildlife Adventure from their own lives, from “childhood summers in the Mediterranean”, as well as the studio’s overall love for animals. However, Ustwo Games is not going into any detail about the game’s play style, or what the overall story might be. We’ll have to wait and see how that all pans out later this year.

Alba: a Wildlife Adventure is scheduled to launch sometime this winter for iOS, macOS, tvOS, and PC. It will also be released on video game consoles, but the developers aren’t saying which ones just yet. It’s probably worth noting that Ustwo Games has worked with Apple directly in the past, releasing Assemble With Care, another puzzle game, for Apple Arcade.

Alba: a Wildlife Adventure certainly looks interesting. Here’s to hoping we get even more details about the upcoming game soon.
