In this edition of our Apps of the Week roundup we have a volume control tool, an app for curating, sharing and discovering meaningful content, and an app that lets you perform with holograms. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Volume Control Pro
Here is an interesting app called Volume Control Pro. By default, you can only choose between 15-16 levels of volume on your iPhone, but with VCP you can get far more granular. It’s obviously not nearly as handy as using the volume rocker on your handset, but once you find your perfect volumes, you can save them as favorites and access them via the Today screen widget.
Bookshlf: Media worth Sharing
Bookshlf is a digital version of a real-world bookshelf. The app enables you to build a library of meaningful, interesting content. You can add anything with a link including articles, books, songs, podcasts and videos, or explore the ‘bookshlfs’ of other users. I know, ugh, another app where you are supposed to share stuff, but I like the idea of this as an educational resource.
Jadu
This seems like it could make for some Saturday afternoon fun. Jadu lets you perform with the holograms of your favorite artists. Just open the app and choose from the library of performers, place the hologram within the frame and capture a video of you singing, dancing, you know, whatever. Once done, if you like the clip, you can quickly share it to IG, Snapchat or TikTok.
War Tortoise 2
Yep, you too can take control of the mighty War Tortoise, in War Tortoise 2. The game features a unique mix of exploration, idle, incremental and shooter gameplay with tons of upgrades, limitless power, loads of customization, and more. The game itself is free, but be aware, there are some IAPs.
Highfly – Fly or Die
If you’re looking for something a little less intense, check out Highfly. It’s kind of like Flappy Bird with a little more personality. You tap and hold to fly your character through various levels while trying to collect coins and avoid obstacles. The gameplay is addictive, the backdrops are beautiful and you can unlock new characters and themes.
