With iOS 13 and iPadOS, Apple changed the way that app updates in the App Store are presented. You used to have a handy little Updates tab at the bottom of the App Store, but that has been replaced with the Arcade tab.
You can still access your app updates in the App Store, and we have a tutorial to show you how. But there’s an even easier way. Here’s how to access App Store updates right from your Home screen.
Access updates from the shortcut menu
When you see that number in bright red on the App Store icon, you know you have updates waiting for you.
Tap and hold the App Store icon and select Updates from the shortcut menu.
You’ll then be taken directly to the updates page in the App Store app. From there you can tap to Update All apps or pick and choose the ones you want.
And that convenient shortcut menu also lets you search the App Store, redeem a code, and check your purchased apps. Each option takes you right to that section of the App Store. So you don’t have to open the app and navigate around yourself.
It doesn’t get any easier than that for quick actions you want to take in the App Store.
