Download the official phone and desktop wallpapers for the successful SpaceX Starfall demo launch mission that took off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
Starfall is a compact disk-shaped capsule designed to bring back cargo from orbit to Earth. It appears different from traditional space capsules (like SpaceX’s Dragon capsule) that have a conical design.

The Starfall capsule has a diameter of about 10 feet (3.1 meters) and a height of 2.5 feet (0.75 meters). In its empty state, it weighs approximately 4,630 pounds (2,100 kg). And it can carry up to 2,205 pounds (1,000 kg) of cargo from space to the Earth.
Reports suggest that Starfall doesn’t have its own deorbit propulsion, so it relies on the launch vehicle or host spacecraft for orbital adjustments. But it has cold-gas thrusters for attitude control during reentry and parachutes for a splashdown recovery.
The June 23, 2026, low-Earth orbit demo flight was launched at 6:53 a.m. ET on a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
