Sileo Team launches Sileo v1.4.2 beta 1 with native dark mode support

Just a few hours ago, the Sileo Team teased a gorgeous set of screenshots depicting what appeared to be an iOS 13-like dark mode for the Sileo package manager. The Sileo Team didn’t say when it would be getting released, but that small detail doesn’t seem to be all that important anymore.

Just within the past hour, the Sileo Team released Sileo v1.4.2 beta 1. It was announced via the official @GetSileo Twitter page, and from what we can tell, this is the first iteration of the proprietary package manager to support a native dark mode feature:

The latest Sileo Beta can be had from the native Chimera and Electra repositories in Sileo on their respective jailbreaks. It doesn’t outright replace the standard Sileo installation for obvious reasons (betas can be unstable), but instead installs alongside it for testing purposes.

In testing Sileo v1.4.2 beta 1, you can learn what to expect when the official release of Sileo v1.4.2 drops. The beautiful new dark mode integrates a translucent tab bar at the bottom of the app that looks exactly like what we’d expect from iOS 13, while the rest of the app shows a creamy and smooth dark gray background augmented with Sileo-green buttons and white text.

It’s worth noting that even existing Sileo app users and Cydia users on the unc0ver jailbreak can already experience dark mode without the new beta. Simply installing a dark mode jailbreak tweak such as Eclipse or Noctis12 can achieve the same (or better) results as these tweaks offer configurable color choices, including pitch-black for battery savings OLED displays.
