Have you received an unwanted message or maybe a harassing one on Facebook Messenger? Luckily you have a way to report these types of conversations in the Messenger app or on the web and it only takes a minute.

To protect yourself from unsolicited messages, here’s how to report conversations on Facebook Messenger.

Report conversations on iPhone and iPad

Open the Facebook Messenger app on your iOS device and then follow these steps.

1) Select the conversation and tap the sender at the top of the window.

2) Scroll down to and select Something’s Wrong.

3) Choose the reason you are reporting the conversation. Depending on the option you select, you may be asked to pick another item.

4) Tap Send Feedback.

You’ll then receive a confirmation that your feedback was sent along with additional steps you can take if you so choose. Tap Done to close the window.

Report conversations on the web

Whether you’re in the Messages area of the Facebook website or the Messenger site itself, here’s how to report a conversation.

1) Select the conversation and open the details with the Conversation Information (small letter “i”) button on the right.

2) Click to expand Privacy & Support if it’s collapsed.

3) Select Something’s Wrong.

4) In the pop-up window, choose the reason you are reporting the conversation. Depending on the option you select, you may be asked to pick another item.

5) Click Send.

You’ll then receive a confirmation that your feedback was sent along with additional steps you can take if you so choose. Click Done to close the window.
