This week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup includes an AR app that takes face-swapping to the next level, a digital piano teacher, and a beautiful interval timer. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Headface
Turn faces, change heads. Headface is an app that offers a realistic face-swapping experience courtesy of augmented reality. I know, there are already several apps out there that do this. But the developers say what separates Headface from the Snapchats and other filter apps out there is that it offers a more realistic experience, with premium lighting and models. Note: only for iPhone X and above.

Chroma
This is pretty cool. If you have access to a piano or keyboard, you might want to check out Chroma. It’s an AR app that helps you learn how to play the piano. Just take the app and do a quick scan of your piano keys, select from over 100K pieces of sheet music, and watch AR graphics start highlighting which keys to play. It’s like a real-life version of Guitar Hero…for the piano.

Amelia Timer
Amelia Timer is a simple, beautiful repeating timer app. In just a couple of taps, you can set your interval length, break length and even number of sets. There’s no ads, no bloat, just a simple periodic timer. It’s perfect for tracking activities like yoga, stretching, running and any other interval exercises. Features include push notifications, pleasant sound effects, and syncing of settings.
Old School RuneScape
Old School RuneScape brings everything there is to like about the MMORPG to your mobile phone. The game features many lore-rich quests that combine epic puzzles and enchanting narratives with the nostalgic humor of point-and-click adventures. Features include PvP gameplay, epic boss fights, an engaged community, and much more. Free to play with some in-app-purchases.
Splashy Cube: Color Run
Roll the block through space and avoid balls trying to stop you. Complete the colorful levels of this beautiful labyrinth and master your skills through experience. It’s super easy: tap left or right to move, splash balls in the same color and avoid balls in different colors. Just watch out for the spikes! I’ve seen similar games in the App Store, but this one seems to really nail the gameplay.
