A day in the life of an Apple Watch user

5.15am: The alarm goes off on my iPhone. I make sure to turn it off quickly so I don’t wake up my wife. After a night of charging, I put my Apple Watch on. I wish I could just use it to wake me up, but it needs to be plugged in at night, at least for a couple hours. I'm hoping next year's model will have better battery life.

Schools of Magic, SwapQuest, Pool Pal, and more apps to check out this weekend

Some weekends are for stepping out and having fun. Some are for sitting around like a couch potato, hoping no one notices the food you’ve spilled on the shirt you’ve been wearing since yesterday.

If this weekend you are in the latter camp, you may need some content to help you pass the time. Check out our list of apps and games for your weekend enjoyment.

Spigen’s Air Skin Soft is an ultrathin case for iPhone 6

Now that the iPhone screen size is so much larger, a thick case is out of the question for most people. Protecting your iPhone 6 while maintaining the slim feel is not that easy, considering even a quarter of an inch makes a huge difference.

Spigen’s Air Skin Soft Clear case is thin enough to cover your case with the thickness of a piece of cloth, so the added coat is practically unnoticeable.

How to access the Couria beta for jailbroken iPhones

Yesterday, we brought you a preview of the upcoming quick reply and quick compose tweak, Couria. Today, we're showing you how you can go hands on with the tweak.

Here’s how Apple will let customers try on in-ear headphones

Following a report last month, Japan-based blog Macotakara was able to snag a look at the kit Apple Store employees will use to allow customers to try-on in-ear headphones before making a purchase.

The urBeats, Beats Tour, and PowerBeats 2 Wireless, all made by the Apple-owned Beats Electronics, and the RHA MA450i, JayBird BlueBuds X, and the Bose QC20, are seen in the kit that Apple Store employees will use to help present to customers.

Firewatch preview: stunning mystery adventure for Mac set in Wyoming wilderness

If you own a Mac, the name of developer Panic may ring a bell. What do you mean 'no'? This Portland, Oregon based studio is responsible for some well-known Mac utilities, such as the FTP app called Transmit (now available on iOS as well) and the brilliant web editor Coda, to name but a few.

Anyways, Panic has provided the funds to launch a small but scrappy new game studio, Campo Santo. And Panic and Campo's inaugural Mac game called Firewatch will be a sight to behold, that's for sure.

A mere glance at this eye-candy of a game tells you that Firewatch is going to be something special, an atmospheric adventure bound to push the envelope in terms of both graphics and storytelling.

Poll: which Apple Watch Sport band color are you?

We recently asked you about your preferred Apple Watch case and now we want to learn which Apple-provided band Apple Watch Sport buyers will be picking up for their device.

We're asking you to restrict your votes to the preferred band color for your Apple Watch Sport because that device has emerged as the de facto top choice for the vast majority of consumers.

The Apple Watch Sport has an entry-level asking price of $349 for the smaller 38mm edition, or an extra $50 for its 42mm counterpart.

How Apple’s Force Touch trackpad with Haptic Engine elevates video editing experience in iMovie

The iMovie 10.0.7 update, released earlier in March, contains some nifty features for owners of Apple's new 12-inch MacBook with Force Touch trackpad.

As first noticed by Final Cut blogger Alex Gollner, Apple's Taptic Engine inside the notebook's new trackpad (advertised as Force Touch) provides a nuanced video editing experience in iMovie.

The Taptic Engine can provide physical feedback in iMovie based on context. For example, when dragging a video clip to its maximum length, you’ll get feedback letting you know you’ve hit the end of the clip.

Take a peak inside Apple’s top secret health and fitness testing lab for Apple Watch

ABC News has been given an unprecedented, exclusive look at Apple's top-secret lab inside its Cupertino headquarters which the company has been using for testing health, fitness and movement tracking features of the Apple Watch.

The broadcaster has now released a short video which offers a rare glimpse into the facility. Jay Blahnik, the key Nike FuleBand developer whom the iPhone maker hired more than two years ago to help develop the Apple Watch's fitness features, can be seen in the video discussing the purpose of the lab with ABC's Rebecca Jarvis.

Inexpensive Apple Watch band adapter Adappt launches on Indiegogo

With April's launch of the Apple Watch on the horizon, we're starting to see first adapters designed to let Watch wearers use their device with third-party watch bands, not just Apple's.

Advertised as the first and patent pending adapter for standard straps for the Apple Watch, the Adappt by four Italian students, two of which are behind the inCharge, a tiny keyring USB charging cable, has now launched on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.

The Adappt lets you wear your Apple Watch with any band. But don't let this quite simple idea fool you, the Adappt is quite ingenious.

How to use window snapping with HyperDock on Mac

As many of you guys know, I'm a huge HyperDock ($9.99 on the Mac App Store) proponent. I use it primarily to have access to window previews of running apps in the OS X dock, but the tweak has additional features as well.

The biggest side benefit to using HyperDock is its window snapping capabilities. It's not the deepest window snapping feature-set out there, but if you need basic Windows-like functionality, it's should have more than enough to win you over.
