If you are a fan of the puzzle-solving genre, you are probably swimming in a happy sea of games these days. What with great new games like Rules! and Primitives Puzzle in Time there is never a moment when you won’t be using your skills in logic and reasoning.
Cubical is another puzzle game to fill your time. It features color matching in a fast-paced timed environment. Push your reflexes to the limit as you match as many cubes as possible before running out of time…
Players start by tapping a cube. It doesn’t matter what color it is. However, the color you touch is the color you must match. Then, tap other cubes that are the same color. Every cube you tap in that color counts toward your point score.
It may sound easy, but there are a few wrenches in the flow. For example, the cubes change colors randomly. So, you may choose blue cubes first because there are so many of them. However, once the clock starts, they begin to change colors and your huge cluster of blue cubes suddenly turns into a smattering.
In addition to only having 60 seconds on the clock, you only get four seconds for each color. So, if you tap a yellow cube, the four-second meter starts and you only have that short period of time to tap all matching cubes before time runs out.
If you accidentally tap the wrong color, make sure you tap it again to de-select it or all of your cubes will be disqualified in that round. Remember, you only have four seconds to notice if you accidentally tapped green when you meant to tap red.
There isn’t much to this game, other than needing super fast reflexes. All you have to do is tap the screen. If there are multiple cubes adjacent to each other, you can drag your finger across them to grab the group quickly, before they change color or time runs out.
The game is advertisement supported, but the banner only appears at the bottom of the menu screen. There is no in-app purchase to allow you to remove the banner, but it really doesn’t get in the way at all.
Cubical is available on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Download it in the App Store today.
