Rumor: iPad 3 to launch in Germany on March 23rd

German blog iFun.de reports that "a source to be really taken seriously" informed them the iPad 3 will launch in Germany on March 23, which falls on a Friday, a day Apple has favored for a while when releasing new products.

Of course, like MacRumors notes, this source hasn't proved to be really reliable in the past, but we just posted this for the sake of discussion and keeping you informed about the rumors going around...

How to add rich text capability to your Notes app now

With the rumors and leaks lending strong indications that we'll see some sort of rich text functionality for Notes in iOS 5.1, developer Ryan Petrich decided he doesn't like waiting.

As a result, Rich Text For Mail — a tweak dedicated to adding rich text support to Email — has been updated to support Notes as well.

The good news is that you no longer have to wait for iOS 5.1 to receive a feature that may or may not be included with the final build...

With the success the iPhone and iPad have had in the mobile computing space, you'd imagine Microsoft would have done a better job at making their flagship Office suite available for iOS. But they haven't. Not until now anyway.

Proview says it’s ready to negotiate with Apple over iPad trademark

After months of back and fourth between Apple and Proview, we're about ready for this silly dispute to come to an end. The monitor-maker is currently blocking iPad sales in a number of south China cities over 'trademark infringement.'

But it appears that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Times of India is reporting that Proview's lawyer Xie Xianghui has said that his company is preparing for negotiations with Apple in an effort to settle this matter out of court...

The difference between an Apple TV and an Apple Television

All the talk these days – at least before all the iPad 3 rumors took over – has been about the much anticipated Apple Television. Apple has certainly not announced anything, and some of us still are not convinced that Apple needs to enter a crowded market, but those rumors just keep on coming.

I'm one of those that just doesn't see why Apple needs to bring a television to market, especially considering there are already hundreds of TV manufacturers in the space that are all scrambling for market share. If Apple is to make an impact, then it needs to offer something that nobody else can. Something that differentiates.

The Apple TV that we currently know and love is a sign that Apple doesn't yet take the home entertainment business seriously. Famously called a "hobby," the Apple TV is a box that is full of potential yet seems almost held back. Almost neutered...

Nothing makes a long car ride go by faster than listening to your favorite music, which is obviously played through your iOS device. There are many stereos and FM transmitters that will allow you to play music from your iOS device to your car's stereo, but nothing that quite lets you integrate it into the dash.

We're huge fans of Kickstarter and have shown you many projects from there before, and today we're here to show you a concept called 'Dash' that lets you easily integrate your iOS device into your car's dashboard...

‘iUnlock’ adds custom unlock animations and sound effects to your iDevice

If the first thing you though was: "Hey, that looks like UnlockFX," then you're not alone, I thought the same thing too.

But after a little bit of testing, I've confirmed that there just may be enough differences between UnlockFX and iUnlock to warrant a look.

While its animations aren't as original and inspired as that of UnlockFX, iUnlock does feature a few more bells and whistles to make it worthy of your consideration...
