Apple airs new “Harmony” iCloud commercial

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple has started airing a new commercial this weekend starring its new iCloud service.

The advert, which does not include any spoken words, does a great job of demonstrating iCloud's capabilities to the not-so-tech-saavy general public...

Rumor: Apple working on both A5X and A6 processors

Adding to the array of iPad 3 rumors that have been floating our way, 9to5mac's Mark Gurman has published a report clearing the waters about recent talk over which processor Apple is going to use in the iPad 3.

There have been conflicting reports that the iPad 3 will feature a quad-core processor, while some say it will only be an upgraded dual-core. We've seen code references and pictures of both, but today, 9to5mac says that Apple has been working on both the A5X and A6 processors...

Is Facebook reading your text messages? [update: no]

Adding to the recent privacy scare that has been taking place among iOS apps, London-based newspaper Sunday Times is reporting that popular social network Facebook has read users' text messages.

In the report, Sunday Times says that when Facebook was gearing up to launch their new Messenger app, they "admitted" to reading text messages. Facebook's Messenger app plays a similar role to texting, letting you quickly fire off messages to your Facebook friends. It's not known if the issue still continues, but is scary nonetheless...

‘FastStatus’ lets you tweet, text, and email using Activator

With everything going the route of iOS 5's Notification Center, we're seeing less and less tweaks that use Activator as a means for invoking, but FastStatus bucks that trend.

In fact, FastStatus' ability to retain full compatibility with iOS 4 is one of the feathers in its cap.

This is a tweak that allows you to send email, text messages, and tweets from anywhere using a user assigned Activator action.

Check out our video walkthrough of FastStatus in action inside...

DismissSiri: Cancel Siri using a voice command

Want a quick and easy way to dismiss Siri? Then try the aptly named DismissSiri — a jailbreak tweak that makes Siri scram with a few simple voice commands.

As long as you don't set your expectations to high, and you don't have a tweak like MyAssistant, which makes DismissSiri redundant, then you may enjoy the functionality that this tweak has to offer...

‘MusicGestures’ adds customized gestures to the stock Music app

MusicGestures is a jailbreak tweak that lends the ability to control the stock Music app with gestures instead of button presses. There are a total of 6 actions (7 if you count disabled as an action) that you can assign to any number of gestures.

The gestures can be used to skip, play, pause, and gather info on both the album cover view, and the individual track view.

It's not the deepest tweak in the shed, but the simplicity of MusicGestures makes it worth a look...

The document says that deliveries are set to take place March 9th.

A few weeks ago we brought you info on how to get the iOS 86 WinterBoard theme for the iPhone.

I think it's safe to say that the reaction to the theme was mixed, but perhaps that may change once you see it in action.

iOS 86 brings you a cell shaded looking theme similar to the classic Dreamcast game Jet Set Radio. Be sure to check out our previous coverage on iOS 86 if you're interested in trying it yourself.
