Now You Can Send a Screenshot Along With Your Links From Safari

Who else thinks that links are about as entertaining as a watching linoleum warp, paint dry, or grass grow? Couple that with the fact that I'm always hesitant to click a link, because most of the time I have no clue what trifling thing is waiting for me on the other side.

Save your friends and family from the guesswork, and try out Email Safari Screenshot, a brand new jailbreak tweak available on Cydia.

Just as its name says, when you share a link via Mobile Safari, a screenshot of the page you're linking to is included right along with it. Check out my video walkthrough of this awkwardly name tweak inside...

A Summary of All the Crazy iPhone 5 Rumors [Infographic]

It seems like the rumors and speculation for Apple's upcoming smartphone have been non-stop over the last couple of months. To make things even more confusing, a lot of the information is completely contradictory.

Is it going to be a modest upgrade or will Apple give it a major overhaul? Will it launch in September or October? How are we supposed to keep up with all of it? Luckily, the folks over at The Next Web were kind enough to help put everything in perspective with this infographic...

iPhone Owners More Ad-Happy Than Android Users

It's always fun to compare iPhone and Android smartphone users across a variety of different metrics, though for the life of me I can't quite work out why. Is it because we're all pre-programmed to initiate competition in just about anything, or is it because we iPhone users possess a slight air of superiority?

No matter the reason, we have a new set of statistics, this time comparing the regularity with with the two camps and those mobile ads we all know and love...

Weird iOS Glitches Allow You to Fake FaceTime Calls and More

Apple's iOS platform is considered to be one of the safest mobile operating systems in the industry. A major reason for that is how strict Steve Jobs and company have been with their mobile ecosystem.

There's very few bugs or glitches in iOS, and ones that are found get patched fairly quickly. That being said,  JailbreakMe 3 creator Comex tweeted a couple of interesting links yesterday that make iOS do some weird  stuff when accessed through Mobile Safari...

iWindows: A Simple Windows 7 Simulator for Your iPhone

A lot of folks jailbreak their iDevices to add functionality to iOS. Maybe they do it to download SBSettings to access toggles quicker, or to install Xpander to save time typing. For the most part, though, people tend to jailbreak for productive reasons.

But Cydia also has a lot of non-productive apps. Not just games, but entertainment-type apps that are more likely to be used in a round of "look what my phone can do," rather than actually used. Now that I've preempted what category this one falls into, here's iWindows...

iOS 5 Beta 5 Set to Expire on September 14

In a recent tweet by iH8sn0w, he has stated that iOS 5 Beta 5 will expire on September 14, 2011. This means that if you use your iDevice past that date and time, it will lock up, forcing you to restore to the GM or final version of iOS 5 (depending on when the final version is released). If haven't heard already, iOS 5 Beta 5 was released today with some new features.

Quick Cydia Tip: Sharing Links to Your Favorite Apps and Utilities

Have you ever wanted to share a jailbreak app or utility with a friend, but didn't know how to send them a direct link? The App Store has an easy way to share apps with its 'Tell a Friend' button, shouldn't there be something similar in Cydia?

Our friends over at Redmond Pie just passed on this great tip on how to do just that. While it's not as cut and dry as the App Store method, it does allow you to quickly share links to your favorite Cydia packages...

Developers Get Green Light to Start Migrating MobileMe Accounts to iCloud

This Fall season is going to be huge for a certain Cupertino company. With several product refreshes expected along with a new mobile OS and cloud storage system launch, it's safe to say that Apple has a big couple of months ahead of them.

Apple hit a couple of semi-major milestones yesterday in their march for September. They released version 5 of their iOS 5 Beta, and they also gave the green light for developers to start migrating their MobileMe accounts over to iCloud...

Instagram Celebrates 150 Million Photos, 15 Uploaded Each Second

Instagram, possibly the most loved iPhone app of its generation, has reached the rather impressive figure of 150 million photos uploaded, according to the app's developers.

The app's 7 million users have reached the milestone by uploading 1.3 million images each and every day, which works out to 15 photos per second.

That's a lot of photos...

GroupTones: Assign Ringtones to Your Contact Groups

If you've gone through the process of dividing your contacts into groups on your iPhone, you'll love this next jailbreak utility. Though there's not a direct way to create groups on your device, you can create them on your Mac or PC and sync them using iTunes.

GroupTones allows you to assign specific ringtones for each of those groups, so you can tell callers apart without looking at your phone. This would help you to instantly identify if the person calling you is a friend, a co-worker, or one of your kid's playmates...
