Twitter Night Mode teaser 001

Available on Android since early-summer, Twitter’s Night Mode option has now expanded to its free mobile app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, the company said Monday. If you constantly check Twitter at night or scan your timeline before nap time, this option may help you have a good night’s sleep as Night Mode enables a darker appearance that’s much more appropriate for using Twitter at night.

To enable Night Mode, hit the Me tab and then tap the gear icon to access settings. To enable the feature, tap Turn on Night Mode, or deselect the option to turn the feature off.

Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be an option present in settings for a scheduled Night Mode to automatically enable this mode during certain times of day.

Twitter is available at no charge on the App Store.

  • Hmm is this a brand new feature? I updated a few days ago but aren’t seeing any night mode option in settings

    • DT

Me as well. Last update is showing on the 18th.

      • [RECON1]

        Same same

      • DT

        Do what

      • [RECON1]

It was never in my app switcher to begin with. Lol

…. And of course now it wants to show up. -.-

      • DT

Neither was mine lol but I opened and closed it and opened again and it was there

      Hey Guys,

Just kill the app in your app switcher and relaunch. Follow the steps again above and you’ll have night mode up and running!

      • Nayk McNulty

        For me, not working

      • Julio Hernandez

It might be a feature that’s being rolled out under the hood. If quitting the app doesn’t work it may not be available to you just yet but should be soon. Quitting the app and starting it up again worked for me or you can just delete and redownload the app.

Update released today for Night Mode.

  • Sohail Wahab

What if  introduce a night mode that works across iOs using the Auto-night shift like the one on iBooks. Measures the room light and switches to dark mode.
Cool concept, what do you guys think?

  • HardTakeR

    It’s working !!!

  • p1noyako

I cannot get this to show up in the menu.

Closed app in switcher and tried rebooting. I’m on version 6.60.

  • Kenneth Delgado

Got it to work. – Open the app once, force close it then relaunch and check settings…
