Jailbreak TaiG 2.0.0 succeeded

Thankfully, the 20% error that was causing us problems earlier today has been solved. If you received this error, you need to downgrade your version of iTunes.

I decided to downgrade to iTunes 12.1.0 as suggested by several of my Twitter followers, and just like that, it worked. If you’re having problems with TaiG 2.0.0 hanging at 20% completion for the iOS 8.3 jailbreak, then try downgrading your version of iTunes.

iTunes downgrade

I’m running a 32-bit version of Windows 10 and was quickly able to jailbreak thanks to this iTunes downgrade. Keep in mind that you will have to uninstall any previous versions of iTunes before installing an older version.

You can find older versions of iTunes using a simple Google search. You can use IPSW.me for iTunes downgrades.

Have you tried downgrading iTunes? Were you met with a successful jailbreak as a result? Please share your experiences down below in the comments.

      Are you serious?!

I can confirm that it does work on 64bit windows 10 tech preview. I had to install iTunes v. 12.0.1 and it worked the first time on my ipad air 2. I did do a fresh restore.

    • Naveed Ahmed

      Fresh restore of what?

    • Aspyn La Mond Walton

Does anyone know why when I try to install 12.0.1 64 bit it always “rolls back” thanks for any help

  • Naveed Ahmed

didnot worked for me on windows 8 64bit all version of iTunes.
worked well when used with iTunes 12.1 on windows 7 32 bit

  • Restoring worked for me 😉

  • CerealKiller

Uh. I’m on 64 bit windows 8.1. I downgraded itunes, airplane mode my phone, downloaded drivers for itunes. I’m still stuck at 20%

    • Earnest Miles

      Same here

  • n0m0n

I have downgraded my iTunes 12.0.1 32bit and I am still stuck at 20%
I tried going to iTunes version 12.1.0 and still 20%.

I have tried this on my MAC w/ Parallel Win 10 Tech Preview, A Windows 8 32bit PC, and a Vista (yeah Vista) 64bit PC and I am still at 20%…

Over the past 10 hours I did get to 60% twice but it froze there, so I started all over again.

I did update to 8.3 via iTunes originally, is that the problem?
I didn’t want to restore because I didn’t want to loose the multiple sub folders I created to keep things orderly.

    Any advise?

    Thanks

    • Dare

I’ve had similar difficulty. Now I keep getting stuck at 60%. I’m hoping they release an updated jailbreak tool that addresses all these issues. This might be one of the worst jailbreaks simply due to the multiple complaints of difficulty getting it to work. I’ve gotten stuck at 10%, 20%, 40% and now 60%.

I might break down and restore today. I will let you know if that fixes the problem.

      • Dare

Broke down and did a restore and fresh install…it finally worked

  • Jay D

I’m assuming that once the jailbreak become stable, developers would have to update their tweaks for 8.3?

  • Adan

Yep, NONE of that worked. Not iTunes 12.0.1, not 32bit iTunes, tried on FOUR different computers, TAIG crashes, and when it doesn’t crash it just stays stuck on 20%.
The only thing that worked was to leave 3K ticked!

  • Hector Andrade

    Mine keeps stopping at 60%
    anyone know why?

    • Adan

No idea, but it did happen to me. I left 3K checked and that time it worked. Then you can just uninstall it from cydia 😉

  • Caleb Edwards

i am unable to uninstall applications after JB. I click on the X and my phone freezes.

I didn’t want to restore because I didn’t want to loose the multiple sub folders I created to keep things orderly.

Ive tried to restore via the “alt” 8.3 ipsw restore file so that I didn’t loose all my sub folders (to stay organized)
I don’t have any anti virus software running on my virtual machine (iMAC / Parallel) nor on neither PC’s.
I actually just rebuilt a 32bit Windows 8 machine jus to try to get this to work.
    Still 20%…….

    Any advise?

    Thanks

  • Daniel Alvarez

i restored and updated through itunes to ios 8.3 and the tool is stuck at “checking jailbreak environemt” I’ve downgraded itunes to the correct version and haven’t slept all night and can’t jailbreak……………….. any help?

  • Tynikki crook

I downgraded and it still isn’t working.

  • daze kid

So, there’s a new version of taig(2.1.2) that fixes all the issues of 2.0.0 which is good news, but the bad news is it cannot run under a virtual machine. Ran 2.0.0 with no issues in parallels but 2.1.2 wouldn’t. Please do post if there gets to be a fix for this.

stucking at 30% after the reboot what should i do ? i have itunes 12.0.1.26, airplanes mode, icloud turns off and no passcode / iD …

  • TeachMeHowToDougie

done all and still stuck never get pass 20%, what i did was do not turn on airplane mode, instead just turn off WiFi, it works for me.

    • n0m0n

plug your device into iTunes and restore the iOS yes it will wipe your device clean.
DO NOT RESTORE YOUR BACKUP. choose to setup as new.
Run Taig jailbreak and run Cydia, after the device reboots run Cydia again to update.
After it reboots again plug your device into iTunes (PC or MAC) and restore your backup.

      Finished
