Here’s Microsoft’s keynote with Surface tablet demo crashing

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer yesterday took the stage to unveil his company's iPad challenger named Surface at a Los Angeles presser.

Vice president Steven Sinofsky was on hand to show off the product and of course it wouldn't be a Microsoft event without a system crash.

If you're wondering about the features Microsoft's device brings to the table, here's the full keynote video...

Clockify adds a live clock to your Home screen and more

Clockify is a recently released jailbreak tweak that takes the fundamentals of Live Clock, and gives it a modern iOS 5 update. With Clockify you can add a live functioning clock on your Home screen, along with adding world clocks to the Lock screen and Notification Center.

There's a fairly impressive amount of customization to be had with Clockify, as you'll no doubt notice in our hands-on video walkthrough inside...

Apple starts airing new “Do It All” iPad commercial

Apple has started airing a new iPad commercial this evening entitled "Do It All." As the name suggests, the ad gives examples of some of the many things you can do with the tablet.

The spot covers everything from sending an email to creating a presentation. And the commercial ends with the tagline "Do it all more beautifully, with the Retina display on iPad..."

How to add download percentages to app installs

AppCent is a new jailbreak tweak that adds a percentage value beneath the app currently being installed on your iOS device. It's a very simple tweak, and for smaller sized apps you probably won't derive much value, but it's nice to have for larger apps that take a long time to download.

Although a progress bar indicating your download percentage already exists in iOS, there's something to be said for having actual numerical values that you can see and identify with...

Display Recorder hits App Store, records your device screen in real time

You'll wanna act on this one right now. Display Recorder, an app by Bugun Software which lets you record your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad screen in real time, has just hit the App Store, priced at two bucks a pop (not to be confused with Ryan Petrich's app of the same name available for jailbroken devices). If I were you, I'd act now: Apple's likely to pull Display Recorder at a moment's notice...

How to install Cydia on iOS 6 beta

Last week a tethered jailbreak was released for iOS 6 running on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch 4th generation. While it was great to have a jailbreak so soon, the jailbreak didn't include any GUI tools like Cydia, only SSH and afc2 support were added.

Fortunately, now that we have SSH access, we can transfer and install pretty much anything on our jailbroken iOS 6 devices, including Cydia.

Check inside for the full video tutorial that shows you how to install Cydia on iOS 6 beta...

Apple’s WWDC conference keynote hits YouTube

Apple today finally posted its WWDC keynote talk to YouTube. The presentation saw CEO Tim Cook and other executives take the wraps off of iOS 6, unveil MacBook Pro with Retina display and more.

A lot of people prefer YouTube over any other video delivery system. So, if streaming the keynote through Apple's website isn't exactly your cup of tea and you're not comfortable downloading the entire presentation as a high-definition iTunes podcast, enjoy this YouTube clip on whichever device you happen to use.

Me? I like my Apple keynote on my Apple TV...

iPhone 5 with transparent iClear Retina display and laser projection keyboard

If you can't get enough of futuristic mockups like a holographic iPhone, this one's guaranteed to pique your interest.

It's viral now as clearly a lot of work has gone into rendering such a surprisingly realistic-looking depiction of a next-gen iPhone.

The basic premise definitely salivated our mouth and made us wish someone out there paid notice and engineered a device like this. Not like it's happening anytime soon, mind you, but perhaps Samsung's collective brain trust  is crazy enough to take a shot at it?

After all, the South Korean conglomerate is working on phones and tablets featuring flexible displays so...

BeeKeyboard: customizable Bluetooth keyboard shortcuts are finally coming to iOS

Although I've entertained the idea of using my iPad as a laptop replacement on and off during my tenure with the device, I always end up reneging on the thought. One of the primary reasons for this is the utter lack of keyboard shortcut customization within iOS.

Sure, some apps have minor Bluetooth keyboard interactivity, but those are few and far between. What about the ability to customize a keyboard's shortcut settings for all apps, and for those that do support a measure of keyboard support, how about even deeper customization?

That's where BeeKeyboard comes into the picture. It's an upcoming jailbreak tweak that will allow you to create custom shortcuts and add-ons for specific apps. Finally, the external keyboard just got a lot more powerful on iOS.
