How to add Twitter and Facebook share widgets to Control Center

A few days ago, I wrote a post showing how to bring Twitter and Facebook share widgets back to the Notification Center using an app called Share Widgets for iOS 7. In this post, I noted that Apple probably didn't add these share widgets in the iOS 7 Notification Center because that's not the right place for them. When you think about it, sharing something on Twitter or Facebook has nothing to do with notifications.

A more natural fit for Twitter and Facebook share widgets is Control Center. With an array of tweaks now being developed for Control Center, one in particular grabbed my attention as it allowed me to do what I really wanted from the beginning: add Twitter and Facebook share widgets to Control Center.

This tweak, some of you may have already guessed, it CCToggles...

How to bring Twitter and Facebook share widgets back to Notification Center

Share widgets have been gone from the iPhone and iPad since the first beta release of iOS 7. Some thought that they would return with the official release of iOS 7, but as we were all able to verify, that was never the case.

Of course, share widgets have nothing to do in Notification Center in the first place. After all, the goal of Notification Center is to notify you, not to provide ways to share to Twitter or Facebook. Still, that was a great loss for many users.

Jailbreakers rejoice, because today, you can easily bring back those share widgets thanks to a new jailbreak tweak called Share Widget for iOS 7...

Rumor: Twitter Edit feature is in the works

According to multiple sources who spoke to former Reuters social media editor Matthew Keys, the micro-blogging giant Twitter is mulling a new feature that would let users edit tweets after they've been published. The edit feature has reportedly been "a top priority" for Twitter as the company's been exploring ways to make its service more useful.

An edit could only be performed once per tweet, source claim, with edited tweets becoming immediately visible on both the user’s feed and on the feed of anyone who re-tweeted the tweet.

Facebook back in September introduced editable statuses, with post editing now available in Facebook's free iPhone and iPad app, so the notion of Twitter's Edit feature doesn't really sound far-fetched at all...

And that feature is a big one. After updating, Vine iPhone users will have the ability to hide revines when browsing a user's profile feed. So that means you will no longer have to scroll through countless revined videos to get to a user's self-made content...

Twitter has updated its official iOS client today, bringing the app to version 6.0. The update is a fairly significant one, bringing about a new look and feel for the app, as well as photo-sharing for direct messages, improved search and more.

The new look pushes the UI of the Twitter app further into iOS 7 territory. There's more white spacing—the menu bar at the bottom is now all white— and texts and graphics seem flatter. And Twitter has added various other enhancements...
