If Only the iPhone 4S is Expected Next Week, What’s With All of These Cases?

Apple's iPhone event is just a few days away, and after months of rumors, we're still unsure of what to expect. Since March, there has been speculation that the Cupertino company would be unveiling multiple handsets this year.

Over the last few weeks, the two-phone theory has largely dropped out of the conversation. A majority of the tech world now seems to think that we'll only see one iPhone model next week: the 4S. But what about all of these iPhone 5 cases still floating around?

A Preview of How Apple’s Top Secret Assistant Feature Could Work on the Next iPhone

If you haven't figured it out by now, there's more to iOS 5 than meets the eye. Since the new software was unveiled in June, Apple has been holding some of its best features close to the vest as it fine-tunes them to perfection.

One of those top secret features is a system-wide utility known as Assistant. The voice-activated digital concierge can do anything from sending text messages to performing internet searches. Want to see how it could work?

Apple Puts Another Nail in the iPod Classic’s Coffin

Apple quietly removed its click wheel games category from the iTunes App Store this morning. Multiple sources have already said that Apple is getting ready to kill the iPod Classic and the iPod Shuffle, so this move doesn't come as a surprise.

With the Classic on its deathbed, it's obvious that the age of the click wheel is nearing an end. We'll miss you, little click wheel.

The First iPhone 5 Review Hits the Web

After scoring the lost iPhone 4 prototype last year, it was hard for Gizmodo to outdo themselves this year. Yet they still did, by publishing the world's first iPhone 5 review four days before the device is actually unveiled by Apple.

How could they possibly do this? The answer is rather simple: by creating a physical mockup based on the rumors we've heard, but also by focusing their review mainly on iOS 5. The result isn't as bad as you'd think...

Next iPhone Rumored to Have 64GB Storage Option

Adding more fuel to the fire, rumor ninja Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac reports that Apple's next iPhone will come in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacities. This isn't the first time we've heard about a 64GB flavor of the iPhone 5, although there's reason to believe that Apple's focus on cloud storage with iCloud refutes such a claim.

With rumors of the iPhone 4S combating the idea of completely redesigned iPhone, Apple could choose to offer a cheaper iPhone with only 8GB of onboard storage. If iCloud is the future, how does more physical storage play into Apple's vision?

One of the Better (Fake) iPhone 4S Videos We’ve Seen

Even though the evidence keeps stacking in favor of an iPhone 4S-only event next Tuesday, we're still holding out hope for a second model. After 15 months of waiting, it'd be nice to see something that would completely blow us away.

But would an iPhone 4S really be that bad? I mean, it is supposed to have a faster processor (the A5) and a better camera. And there have been rumors of a larger, edge-to-edge display. But what would it all look like? Perhaps something like this...

The $12 Billion iPad Deal That Might Never Go Through

A few months ago we reported about Foxconn's plans to open a factory in Brazil where it would produce iPads. The $12 billion deal is now at risk, according to Reuters.

Citing government officials, Reuters reports that the deal is stagnant, due to disagreements on tax breaks, but also because of the country's unadapted infrastructures and the lack of skilled work force in Brazil...

Shortly after we published our iPhone 5 facts and rumors infographic this morning, PC World came up with a graphic visual interpretation of its own. In this realistic infographic, the website reveals the anatomy of an Apple rumor.

And they're pretty spot on. But we'll let you be the judge of that...

iPhone 4S Magically Appears in Apple’s Database

It looks like the next iPhone could very well be called the iPhone 4S, according to a finding in Apple's internal inventory database. 9to5Mac reports that a 8GB iPhone 4 and the infamous 'N94' iPhone 4S have both been added to Apple's inventory system.

Besides the two iPhone models, findings also indicate that the three iPod touch capacities will be seeing international price drops. The N94 iPhone is assumedly the flagship device that Apple will unveil on Tuesday...

China Unicom Suggests Next iPhone Will Support HDSPA+ “4G” Technology

With Apple's iPhone event just 5 days away, everyone is trying to get in their last minute predictions. While it seems like pundits agree on most of the device's features, there is one detail that still remains a mystery — data connectivity.

Even though evidence surfaced last month that Apple was testing LTE-capable devices, it doesn't seem likely that the upcoming smartphone will house the technology. But that doesn't mean that the next iPhone won't be "4G..."

Facebook to Launch iPad App and Project Spartan Early Next Week

According to MG Siegler of TechCrunch, Facebook is set unveil its long awaited iPad app and Project Spartan, the HTML 5-based mobile platform the company has been working on for months, early next week.

We know the iPad app has been ready for a while – which was confirmed by a former Facebook employee – but it appears that Spartan has been ready for quite some time, too. But the company has apparently been working out the kinks with Apple. Better than that, Facebook may unveil these new products at Apple's iPhone 5 launch next week...
