How to fix duplicate iCloud contacts after updating your Mac

If you’ve recently updated your Mac to macOS Big Sur, Monterey, or later, you may have noticed an issue with your contacts. Have all of your Contacts suddenly been duplicated since the upgrade? If so, you’re not alone.

You can certainly go through the process of removing the duplicates, as some have suggested in the Apple Community forum. But there is another suggestion, used by our own Sebastien Page, that is the quickest and easiest way to go.

Basically, you’ll restore your Contacts to the last backup in iCloud, here’s how.

As you probably know, Preview on Mac automatically saves changes you make to an image or PDF file. While most times this is benefit, it can also be a detriment. You can create a duplicate before you start working on the file, but if you forget, then you’ve just changed the original. And this isn’t always what you want.

At the same time, you may make several changes that you decide you don’t want to use after all. But again, you’ve changed and saved the file already.

Here, we’ll show you how to view and recover previous versions of PDFs and images in Preview. This allows you to go back and grab an earlier version to use or copy.

Succession: An upcoming Cydia Eraser alternative for iOS 10.0+

Veteran jailbreakers are likely familiar with a handy utility called Cydia Eraser, which Saurik released several years ago to help jailbreakers ‘un-jailbreak’ their pwned handsets without restoring and updating their firmware via iTunes. Saurik’s busy life has prevented him from updating Cydia Eraser for modern versions of iOS, but it now looks like there could be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Apple stops signing iOS 12.1.1 beta 3, halting downgrades to a jailbreakable firmware

In an unfortunate turn of events this week, Apple appears to have stopped signing iOS 12.1.1 beta 3 for most or all iOS devices. Before last night, this was the last jailbreakable firmware that could still be downgraded to via iTunes since Apple closed the signing window for the official iOS 12.1.1-12.1.2 releases exactly one month ago.

Hacker an unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd confirmed the unsigning status via Twitter in the wee hours of the night, shortly following up with reports saying that it was still being signed by Apple for certain devices. As expected, a couple of high-profile individuals such as rootlessJB 3.0 developer Jake James and OsirisJailbreak12 creator GeoSn0w confirmed that the firmware wasn’t being signed for their devices:
