The Amazing Spider-Man 2 launching April 17, gameplay trailer posted

We recently told you about Gameloft's upcoming movie tie-in mobile game, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Building on the original Amazing Spider-Man, the sequel is said to offer flashier and more detailed graphics, improved controls and of course updated movie-based content.

Both the game and the movie are slated to land on the same day and now Gameloft's given us a firm release date: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is coming to iOS, Android and Windows Phone platforms next Thursday, April 17, 2014.

Unlike many triple-As these days, Spider-Man 2 is a premium title, Gameloft has confirmed, so we expect it to cost a few bucks and (hopefully) not include any in-app purchases. Gameloft today posted a new trailer showing in-game action and I've included it right after the break...

Adobe Lightroom for iPad now available

Nearly a year ago, Adobe’s Tom Hogarty showed off an unnamed prototype iPad app that brought pro-level photo editing and image manipulation capabilities to the Apple tablet. Then in January, the company let it slip that an iPad version of Lightroom was in the works.

Today that app has landed in the App Store as Adobe Lightroom for iPad. From afar, the software looks powerful, capable of editing RAW DSLR photos and more. But, as with many professional mobile tools, you'll have to be a subscriber to Adobe's Cloud service to use it...

We've been following the progress of the Family Guy mobile project since it was first announced last year. The series is one of the most popular on television right now, and many believe the game has the potential to give The Simpsons: Tapped Out a run for its money.

Kodak launches new ‘Moments’ photo book app for iPad

A familiar name popped up in the App Store under the 'Photography' section today. Just 6 months after officially exiting bankruptcy, Kodak has released a new app called 'Kodak Moments for iPad' that allows customers to create and order photo books, prints and enlargements using drag-and-drop on their tablets.

The app is the product of Kodak Alaris—the personalized and document imaging businesses group that retained the license to the Kodak brand following Eastman Kodak's exit from bankruptcy last fall—which already has a handful of low-key iPhone apps. But this is the firm's first significant software release for iPad...

Unique physics-based platformer Monument Valley just hit iOS and it’s insanely great

Right upon seeing a trailer for Monument Valley, I was drawn to this surreal physics-based iOS game of platforms and perspectives with a twist, to such a great degree that I immediately bought it without thinking.

Created by Ustwo, the same minds who brought us Blip Blup and Whale Trail, the game is an insta-purchase and easily one of the most visual striking titles to grace Apple's mobile platform since its inception.

Now available for the iPhone and iPad in exchange for four bucks, Monument Valley challenges you to manipulate impossible architecture and guide the silent princess Ida through a stunningly beautiful world.

I've included gorgeous screenshots, videos and additional tidbits below the fold...
