The Mac in 2019: Mac Pro, magic keyboards, Catalina and more

I think 2019 will best be remembered as a transitionary year for the Mac. It won't be remembered as a revolutionary year, anyway. Apple refreshed the non-pro iMac and MacBook Pro in the first half of the year, improved the MacBook Air and made it more affordable, then later rolled out the 16-inch MacBook Pro and the Mac Pro. It also introduced macOS Catalina, which added some great features and functionality to the Mac while also creating some headaches for developers and users.

Never mind the 16-inch MacBook Pro, how about a 14-inch MacBook Pro

16-inch MacBook Pro

Apple's recent introduction of a 16-inch MacBook Pro got me thinking about the future of the Mac line. The latest rumors suggest that the 13-inch MacBook Pro is getting a redesigned keyboard in early 2020. That's a good first step. But the increase in screen real estate on the 16-inch model makes me wonder if the 13-inch MacBook Pro might be not long for this world at all. Could a 14-inch be around the corner?
