Dashboard X 2.0 makes adding widgets to your Home screen even easier

The original Dashboard X was a fairly monumental tweak for jailbroken iOS devices, because it brought true widgets to the iPhone and iPad's Home screen.

Dashboard X 2.0, the follow up to the hit release, is aiming to build on all of the things the original Dashboard X did well, while fixing the things it didn't do so well.

This time around you can resize widgets using pinch gestures, and you can position widgets on both portrait and landscape orientations independently of one another.

Simply put, this is an awesome follow up to an already great jailbreak tweak. Check inside for the full video walkthrough...

NotiPad — the Growl inspired tweak for the iPad — has just appeared on Cydia's BigBoss repo for $1.00. The iPad exclusive tweak replaces the standard banner notifications in favor of Growl styled pop up notifications.

There are a variety of different options built in with NotiPad, including the ability to alter the animations, and switch the side of the iPad's screen that the notifications appear on.

Getting more out of Google Chrome

Now that Google Chrome has been out for a while on iOS, it's a good time to sit back and reevaluate its value. Should you ditch Safari for Chrome? Is Chrome good for jailbreakers? How do you get more out of Chrome?

Inside we'll take a look at various ways that you can make your Google Chrome experience more rewarding. Even if you're not a jailbreaker there are plenty of ways you can still benefit...

Banners Plus: another growl inspired notification tweak for the iPad

Yesterday we brought you a preview of NotiPad, an upcoming jailbreak tweak that enables Growl inspired notifications on the iPad. Although NotiPad looks promising, it wasn't without a few quirks in my testing, and it will also cost $1.00.

Another developer, undoubtedly inspired by what he saw, has created a new tweak that mimics many of the functions present in NotiPad, and he will be releasing his tweak for free. He's calling his tweak Banners+, and we've taken it for a spin on video...

How to add a traditional refresh button to Google Chrome

The way Google Chrome for iOS handles its refresh/stop functionality is a bit unorthodox. You have to first open a menu, and then tap the refresh or stop button to perform the action.

While it may seem like a small deal, I've found that this extra step is a bit frustrating in real world usage. Thankfully, as you may have guessed, the jailbreak community has responded with an answer.

EasyRefresh for Chrome is that answer — it's a jailbreak tweak that adds a traditional refresh button to Google Chrome for iOS...

How to download files with Google Chrome on iOS

Just a few minutes ago, a new tweak entitled Chrome Download Enabler appeared on Cydia. Excited about the prospect of finally being able to download files via the Google Chrome Browser on iOS, I quickly paid the somewhat steep $2.00 asking fare, and jumped in.

What did I find? Chrome Download Enabler works well, allowing you to download files that you ordinarily wouldn't be able to in Google Chrome. It's not pretty like Safari Download Manager, but as you'll see in the following video walkthrough, it does get the job done...

NotiPad: Growl like notifications on the iPad

NotiPad is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that promises to provide Growl like notifications on the iPad. The notifications that appear with NotiPad replace the standard banners present in iOS 5 and above.

Each notification can be tapped to launch its respective app (or double tapped, if you prefer to dismiss it). There are also options contained within the Settings app, that allow you to configure the animation style and switch the position of incoming notifications.

RedSn0w updated with support for iOS 6 beta 3

The Dev Team released an update to the beta version of its popular RedSn0w jailbreak tool this afternoon, with support for the latest iOS 6 firmware.

Earlier today, Apple seeded iOS 6 beta 3 to developers. And for those of you that updated, you can now jailbreak with RedSn0w version 0.9.13dev3...

How to quickly search iDB on your iPhone from anywhere

QuickiDB is an upcoming jailbreak tweak that will allow you to search the contents of iDownloadBlog from anywhere. It accomplishes this feat by means of an Activator action that invokes a dialogue box with a simple search field.

With QuickiDB installed, it's easier than ever to search the contents of iDownloadBlog. Now all of your favorite jailbreak apps, tweaks, reviews, and opinions are just a couple of taps away, and you don't even have leave your current activity to do so...

Octopus Keyboard now available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo

[tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GCxr6NowXs[/tube]

Octopus Keyboard — the highly anticipated BlackBerry 10 keyboard tweak for jailbroken iOS devices — has finally touched down on the default BigBoss Cydia repo.

Prior to its landing on the BigBoss repo, the developer released the tweak on his own personal repo. You can check out our further analysis of Octopus Keyboard both here, and here.

Although the download is free of charge, be aware of the fact that you must purchase a $4.99 license via PayPal in order to use the tweak. Have you been waiting for Octopus Keyboard to finally appear on the default Cydia repos? If so, are you going to try it?

HomeCourts brings banner shortcuts to jailbroken devices

No, it has nothing to do with having an advantage in a game of basketball. HomeCourts is a jailbreak tweak that lets you access a series of banners on the Home screen that serve as shortcuts. I still don't quite get the name, but I think it has something to do with shortcuts being on the Home screen? That's my best guess anyway.

HomeCourts features pairs of configurable shortcuts. There are two shortcuts for making a phone call, two for sending a message, two for launching websites, etc. All of these shortcuts can be assigned and configured in the Settings app. Needless to say, HomeCourts is about as cumbersome as it gets for a jailbreak tweak.

How to make your iPhone speak the current time and date

Sometimes you just don't have time to look at the time. Or maybe you're in a dark room, and don't want the iPhone's light to blind you as if you were staring directly into the sun. In either of these scenarios, using TimeSpeak would be appropriate.

TimeSpeak is a jailbreak tweak that will speak the current time and date out loud when invoked via an Activator action. The tweak contains numerous options for speaking certain parts of time like day, month, hours, minutes, seconds, etc. Take a look inside for a full video demo...
