Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

Multify: an awesome new multitasking tweak for iOS 8

Every so often a big tweak comes around that gets me more excited than most, and Multify—a new tweak from John Corbett and Joel Einbinder—meets that criteria to a tee. Multify is an upcoming tweak that brings true multitasking to iOS in an easy to use and surprisingly stable package. Yes, other tweaks have attempted to do similar things in the past, but this is by far the best implementation that I've seen or used thus far.

Lithium: theme the battery indicator on iOS 8 sans WinterBoard

Lithium is a brand new jailbreak tweak that adds a themed battery indicator to iOS 8. A similar tweak with a similar name, Alkaline, already exists on the Cydia store, and Lithium pretty much replicates the feeling of that tweak.

While some users report that Alkaline works perfectly on their iOS 8 device, it's never worked without a visual glitch on my iPhone 6 Plus. For that reason, I'd be up for trying Lithium on an extended basis.

LockInfo8 brings a unified notification experience to the Lock screen

LockInfo8, like the previous seven releases in the series, is a Lock screen tweak that provides you with a plethora of pertinent information about your day, your apps, the weather, and more. It's the latest in a long-running series that has been installed on millions of iPhones, and is one of the most recognizable and popular jailbreak tweaks in the history of the community.

For various reasons, I've always shied away from covering the tweak. Some of it had to do with disinterest, but some of it was laziness. I guess I figured that everyone already knew about LockInfo, so why bother, but I understand that this was the wrong attitude.

To be honest, LockInfo always felt like it was trying to do too many things at once, and that's another reason why I lacked the interest and motivation to provide any sort of post. In this area, LockInfo seems to have turned a corner as of late. It's still an incredibly deep tweak, but the barrier to entry is much more palatable this time around.

14 jailbreak tweaks you should check out today

It's been a busy week, what with Apple's big event and all, so you'd be forgiven if you weren't able to keep up with all of the new jailbreak tweaks. But never fear, as usual we've put together a list of this week's new tweaks so you can rest assured you didn't miss anything.

Couria quick reply tweak is coming to iOS 8

With biteSMS' demise, there has been a distinct need for messaging tweaks, specifically quick reply and quick compose tweaks. Couria, a quick reply and quick compose tweak that first debuted on iOS 7, is a tweak that looks to fill the need.

Today, its developer, Qusic, teased the progress he's been making on Twitter. Here's a look at what you should expect.

How to get WhatsApp voice calling on your jailbroken iPhone

If you're jailbroken, and have a little patience, you can get WhatsApp's new in-beta voice calling feature on your iPhone right now. To do so, you'll need to download the WhatsApp beta, download a package from Cydia, and following a couple of additional steps.

After following this tutorial, you will be able to access voice calling in WhatsApp. I can personally verify that this technique works, and was able to shoot a video walkthrough showing you the steps along with a live phone call.

HiddenConvos: a sleek way to hide conversations in the Messages app

Normally I would shoot a video to highlight a jailbreak tweak, but seeing as I'd probably have to blur out most of the video, I decided to go about it the old fashioned way. I hope that I can accurately portray just how awesome HiddenConvos is without the assistance of video, because it's really that good.

HiddenConvos is a tweak that allows you to quickly hide conversations in the Messages app using a simple left-swipe gesture. Once you left-swipe on a conversation, tap the Hide button to hide the conversation from view and suppress its notifications.

Popular Lock screen launcher atom is coming to iPad

One of the most popular Lock screen launchers for iOS 8 is headed to iPad. Atom, the Surenix-designed and Daniel Turner-developed atomic-inspired Lock screen launcher, is headed to the big screen. We've got a first hands-on look at atom for iPad, including a summation of the tweak's iPad-exclusive feature.

How to add landscape mode, cellular streaming, and native favorite access to Tweetbot

Recently, I've started using the official Twitter app more. I like some of the features that the Twitter app has, such as native access to see who's favorited your tweets, notifications on an individual user basis, native video support, etc.

But even with all of those features, I still find myself going back to Tweetbot 3. The user experience found in Tweetbot is so much more thought-out and refined, and the animations, sounds and graphics are charming. Needless to say, despite its limitations, I always go back to Tweetbot.

If you feel the same way that I do, and you're jailbroken, then Tweetbot+ will certainly be of interest to you. It brings many new features to the table to enhance the Tweetbot 3 experience, such as cellular streaming, native favorite access, landscape mode, and more. Our full video walkthrough showcases all of the major features.

Are you looking for a way to better organize the screenshots that you take with your iPhone? If so, then you should take AlbumShot for a spin.

AlbumShot is a recently released jailbreak tweak that creates albums in the Photos app to store the screenshots that you take. But it doesn't just create a single album; it creates an album for each app that you take a screenshot for. Watch our full video walkthrough for more details.
